Cute dragon, as others have said. But please add some sort of keyboard controls to advance and choose, especially since the choices themselves are rather small.

omg i remember this!!  it's so cute??  still??  i almost wish it had been a sequel or something instead of a remake but it was still a joy to run through again

i love how much implicit worldbuilding this does in a very short span of time.  even the mobility-aid wings for a dragon — how much stuff does that imply on its own?  the answer is, a lot

i think my only serious criticism is that there's not much difference between regular text and a prompt of options, and in fact i thought the first prompt was just text with quirky spacing and didn't understand why i couldn't advance through it.  then i felt like a huge idiot haha

Thanks! I wanted to keep working on it after last jam but wasn't thrilled with the code and art, the rework hopefully puts things back on track for me to add more content easier. The dialogue system definitely needs to be reworked, I had such lofty plans but so little time.

Cute art style. The dialogue has a nice flow to it. I wish I could mix and match the parts in the minigame to build my own custom dragon plane.

Thanks! I want to do something like that with a huge set of different parts to search for, but need to find a good way to reduce the set of possible combinations that require art and dialogue while keeping the choices meaningful.

I found the UI kind of clunky to use, but overall it's a cute concept and I really like the dragon character. I think I found all the possible outcomes, unless there's more than three.

Thanks for playing! That's all the endings, I'm guessing clicking the text was tricky? The UI system was very barebones, other VN engines have set some great usage patterns I should look at.

Yeah, and I also typically expect the text box to jump to the end of the current line when I click it. And the screen scroll in the warehouse was kind of slow. Not to be too negative about it. X3 These are fairly superficial problems I think.

Feedback is good! This is very useful, I want the game to be nice and polished at some point, and addressing all interfacing issues is important.

For some reason the OSX build tries to open in TextEdit, even after complaining about being unsigned. The heck?

It looks like it's a single Mach binary rather than a macOS app bundle. Launching it from the command line does work but that's not exactly the intended strategy for app launching.

I forgot macOS wants app bundles. Thanks for working around it! I'll look into packaging it properly.

Is this löve? If you're still using my build system that should produce app bundles natively.

ETA: https://github.com/fluffy-critter/colorful-critter/blob/master/Makefile has been updated to build against LÖVE 11.2 and it should be easy to bump it to whatever future versions as long as rude doesn't change the zipfile/version scheme again

It's monogame, but I was going to steal your build system for generating the app bundle. ;)

you can't just plop a monogame binary into a love bundle... the fixed version doesn't open at all. Doesn't monogame have its own cross-platform build targeting system?

I ended up rewriting the package file based on some docs I saw, the build system I'm using for monogame does not, I'll need to keep digging.

This is a complete remake of my submission last year by the same name. The minigame works this time... I think.

The minigame is cute but I wish it were a bit more accessible. If there were a way to zoom out or a better way of handling the panning it might be easier to actually play for folks who have trouble with precise mouse movements or who are motion sensitive (i.e. me, on both counts...)

Thanks for playing! I was worried about confusing the player and didn't document the alternative keyboard controls at the last minute... and even removed some. I'll make sure to improve the control scheme (and add remappable controls, I had a nice setting menu drawn out and everything) to be more accessible going forward.
