Random question, and I don't remember if it has been asked/answered before but:
Will any future updates be eventually released free on Itch? I understand if not, just wanting to know if I need patience, or money to continue the story.

No, 0.7.9 was the last version that comes free, DEMO version has enough content for people to decide if they like it or not.
