I feel kinda bad playing the game now knowing they could've gotten together 💀 I think the only reason Kadsey was unenjoyable was that dang MAD game lol, I also found Solid Ashton(red) to be such a prick but he made me feel, as embarrassed as I am to admit. I also think that Kadsey and Liquid Ashton would be a fantastic match for one another, especially with how expressive Kadsey is!! So happy your game is getting love, it genuinely holds a special place in my heart rn and I'm kinda obsessed with Green Ashton, cannot wait to see the game finished! Best of luck :)

also sorry for the questions, but what makes Ashton so drawn to us? I speculated it was because we were real tbh, and if Tester plays the game when Kadsey and Ashton get together, would he not care for Tester or still hold his current thoughts about us, except more platonically? Speaking of which, what ARE his thoughts on Tester?(as you can tell im obsessed, sincerely sorry)

I'm sorry, it is tragic that Tester gets in the way of Kadsey's relationship, it's just something to deal with (which is another reason why Red Ashton has better ending~) However I am very happy to read (or write) fanfictions where Ash and Kads are happily together!

But those are really good questions!! It may sound strange since I'm the one who made it but there are some things I just didn't think about or might not make sense because most of the story was thought up AFTER the first game was finished!

So the story in my mind is that when Ashton finds out he and his would aren't real (and that the person who created him did so after a weird yandere golfball) he was beyond upset and going through a kind of crisis. I don't remember if I wrote it anywhere but he started to really isolate himself from his friends, seeing them as just game characters. Then in his darkest moment he not only connects to the player's computer but is able to hack into their private files and kind of get to know them. I wanted it to be vague and depend on the person as to what Ash sees in them (hence why he calls them talented because that could be for anything), but the biggest reason is that yes the Tester is real.

I'm sure I said this SOMEWHERE but at first Ashton saw the tester as a prize to be won, since he's always felt like a loser and very self conscious of himself, and the tester was the one thing he could win, but then after the date he starts to realize he really wants to be with tester somehow. If that makes sense.

But if Tester plays after Kadsey had confessed to Ashton?! And assuming Kadsey either helped him cope with not being real or that hadn't happened yet, hmmmm that IS interesting! So this isn't something I've pondered so I hope it's not too out of character but I don't think Ashton would fall in love with the Tester, I think he'd be more curious about the real world and want to find a way for you all to get together platonically. But like I said that's just off the top of my head. I imagine Ash would be very loyal. Thank you again for liking my game!! I am so incredibly proud of it!!

That's how I imagined it, too! I would imagine him being interested in Tester but not in a romantic sense, and I personally did think the main reason Green was so enthralled with Tester was mostly because of them being real and a 'prize'.(it's put somewhere in the first game, I think after Green ykws John and you talk to Kadsey) I also understand not thinking about that stuff, but thank you for an answer nonetheless! I guess I was just curious because other than DDLC, I've never played games with characters who are more...self-aware, lol? I also kinda relate to Green, the sense of being self-conscious even if no one points it out, and I really like that! I like that I ended up caring about this little guys and I was lowkey pissed with Ashton for killing them off in the first game JUST BECAUSE of Tester. Like imagine your friend kills you for some random dude/j

Can't wait to see what you do with Red! Like I said before, could not care less for that bozo but I just feel bad after getting his secret yandere ending and finding out more about him, so finding out Red has a good ending is nice to know:) I also kinda like how affectionate Green is, rlly makes my brain itch/pos

Another question if you dont mind answering, what headcanons(or well canon things about them) would you share about them? I'm a bit tempted to write about mine but I would love to hear what you might've came up with before, during, or after your games!

I was thinking about what you said about DDLC and yeah you're right, there really aren't that many VN characters who are THAT self aware, it's actually one of my fav things to see in a VN. (a bit of espoir lore but when I played DDLC on my own i was completely home alone in the dead of night and Monika said my full government name and I actually had to walk away from my computer and stand in the hallway to recover. I LOVED that feeling and wanted Ashton to do the same thing)

I wanted Ashton to also kind of apologize for what he did because it was kind of "not cool". At the time he saw his "friends" as just other game characters but after watching the player's dates with them in Reboot, he sees them in a better light and feels guilty. It probably wouldn't be a happy ending if Ashton STAYED as yandere as he did and i love happy endings! (because the game that inspired him will probably NOT have a happy ending!)

Hmm canon things about the boys? This I have actually pondered about for fun!

One rule I tried to keep is that technically Ashton is the only yandere character and the only one who truly loves the Tester. The others either see them as a close friend, or platonic buddy (although Kadsey does develop a crush on them). Also there is only one tester in the story, so there wouldn't be multiple Ashton's out there. Kadsey is definitely in love with Ashton, the reason being Ashton doesn't treat Kadsey superficially, that is take his hyper-ness and cheerfulness for granted...like Ashino does. I think I hint at this but Ashton is very honest and blunt with Kadsey while Ashino is very shallow with Kadsey, but I think once he overcomes that Kadsey will hate him less (someday!)

Oh one of my favorite cannons is that Vincent and Ashton bond over thrift stores and macabre things, both love horror movies and spooky things.

Oh another of my favorite (head?)cannons is that both Ashton and Ashino love 80s anime but where Ashton loves the more horror stuff like Lily Cat and Akira, Ashino loves stuff like Ranma1/2 and Creamy Mami! Both "Ashtons" are similar but in different ways♥

Sorry if that's a lot, these boys literally live rent free in my head!

No worries, I love them too!! I personally really enjoy and appreciate you talking to me about your characters, it's so fun to see creators care about their craft and just..talk?? I also like how interactive you are with your players, it's fun:) Also, was replaying the game and I got a question for acoustic or electric guitar?? That was kinda funny and I don't remember ever getting that before! Personally when I played the first game, Ashton saying my name didn't affect me bc it wasn't my name and I literally tried to rename it so he could lol

This is honestly my obsession, hope you get to learn whatever DDLC was created with so you can make a more self-aware game!!(as in like not in a rude way sorry if it sounds like that) I also like how Ashton's opinion of his friends changed, that was really sweet and just made me feel relieved, especially since they forgave him. I also can imagine that Green and Red have a lot more similarities tbh, like knowing a lot about flowers, but their source of them is different. Like, I imagined Kadsey would be the source of Green's knowledge while Red learned it from the ppl from the cafe

Also Kadsey's True Date End made me so sad for the little guy, but that one scene where Ashton was behind him was kinda funny, like dudeeee no way you just tried that, not to mention him PUNCHING HIM on the cross date lol. I'm also really relieved to hear Ashino likes Creamy Mami, I remember really liking the opening from it!! I could also imagine him enjoying shoujo stuff :)) I wonder, does he have any dislikes? I could imagine he might not enjoy Ouran High School Host Club lol, also important do you think he'd like Gakuen Handsome

Sometimes the questions in the test are a tie breaker if you have the same amount of points with 2 guys, however it does that even if 2 guys have 1 point and I don't know how to fix that, but I kind of enjoy it the way it is.

I figured there would be times when he says someone's user name instead of their real name because it's actually a smart idea to NOT have your system be your full name, haha. I also felt really bad when I heard that Ash deadnamed someone at some point so I added in the first game a chance to avoid that, and in the sequel he asks for your permission first (I don't remember if that part is in the demo yet...).

DDLC was made with Ren'py and I've been trying to learn it a little, but that developer also had a lot of coding knowledge so they knew how to code things like that. I'm more used to RPG Maker and can easily find codes to drag and drop into it. BUT someday I would like to make a ren'py game as meta as PPB!

lol I hope it wasn't too shocking when Ashton punched him, but Ashton in my head very very upset that Kadsey literally killed the love of his life. Kadsey forgives him though (he doesn't entirely regret trying to kill the player, he only guessed you'd survive, he's a little stinker).

Much like how they view Kadsey i imagine Green Ashton sees the language of flowers on a deeper level while Ashino/Red Ashton is more on a superficial level. Red Ashton would give you roses because they're pretty and traditional while green Ashton would give them because he's passionate. But that's not all bad on Red Ashton's part (trying to defend this clown), Ashino enjoys things for the way they appear instead of overthinking. But oh that reminds me of one more canon thing, Kadsey actually has a college degree in Florestry enjoys working with flowers!

I think Ashino would ADORE Ouran Host Club, truly I can only put into my characters what I know and he loves relationship animes, magical girl animes, and anything just wholesome and cute. I had to look up what Gakuen Handsome was and...from what little research I just did I think he'd hate it at first but then he'd love it to the point of trying to get others to watch it (only John would, when it comes to anime John likes ridiculous animes like Nichijou, where it's pure comedy and cuteness). Maybe I need to check this show out, it sounds good!

Pleaseeeee check out Gakuen Handsome it feels like brainrot but in the best way, it's mostly just a parody of BL stereotypes and I enjoyed it when I watched it! I was reminded by it by Vincent's chin tbh, also as much as I would rather pass a kidney stone than be near Red in any way, I'd kinda like to watch Love Sniper Momo-Chan or whatever the name is with him lol! Also hear me out but Kadsey was kindaaaa in the right to kill us like I'd do it too

quick question but why is Green such a freak/pos like the censored words gave me a scare on my first playthrough, and where did your inspiration for their characters come from? also does Vincent crossdress? I thought I saw somewhere in the game that Tester asks about his maid outfit and the heels and just thought to ask, sorry if this comes off as weird! also their opinion on rats???(domesticated)

also, the part where he asks permission is not in this game, rlly excited for it to be brought back if planned!!

I can answer both those questions actually, Ashton is kinda freaky because the game and character he was inspired by was from an erotic VN called "Your Boyfriend". It's a little controversial and very adult and I didn't want my game to be THAT adult but still wanted to have a tiny bit of spice to it. At the time Ash was getting a little too delusional, I also left it up to the players imagination as to what he was saying.

The character that inspired Ash would be Peter from "Your Boyfriend", Peter is technically my firt VN yandere, I've never seen a male character that's already SO MUCH in love with the player and would murder the other characters. Back in my day (old lady voice) most yanderes were female and very similar to Monika, but the main reason I made this game was to make a similar character to Peter for people to enjoy as a comfort character. And Ashton HATES that, he hates Peter, and even says "do you know how hard it is to eat with teeth like this?!" Poor baby. But also Ashton is a bunch of things I personally love, he's a heavier/fatty guy which you really don't see a lot of, and he's a big nerd with a soft spot, with my favorite color of eyes♥ He's actually way more similar to Underfell Sans from fan stories of Undertale whom I love very much. I would joke that Ash's "father" isn't actually Peter but Underfell Sans and thus his last name became "Fell"♫♪

Yes Vincent cross-dresses. Despite always talking about "the code of the gentleman" he's very comfortable wearing women's clothes for their elegance, maneuverability, and fashion. The line about the heels he's embarrassed about because they are only for fashion. Rats? Does Vincent like rats? Hmm, I would say no only because "all animals except rabbits" frighten him. You could probably get him to tolerate a domesticated rat (i personally LOVE domesticated rats♥♥♥).

Oh ok, then I think that's at the very, VERY end near the final scenes, it's very heartwarming♥♥♥

glad to know my suspicions were confirmed, thankful to know they share a world with Underfell lol! Like I said before, I haven't been able to find stuff like this with characters like Ashton in it(more heavier and more geeky) and sometimes it felt like there wasn't a lot of unique characters, also I'd kinda be pissed too if I was based off Peter

Very cool that Vincent cross-dresses! Along with Ashton, I just never really see characters with traits like that, so it's always nice to find out more about characters. I also really enjoy domesticated rats, I wonder how the other guys feel about them? Also, if Ashton was able to properly be put back into the game or somehow ended up in the real world, do you think he'd get other plants? I thought it was cute he had a cactus(I literally had a cactus too lol) and I just really want to hear more about what type of plants he'd get if he could. Also, what kind of horror movies does he like? I know he's a big fan of zombies, so would he enjoy Rob Zombie lol, and I wonder if he'd like Feed Me but I kinda doubt it.

also, why is Ashton's room so hot </3 I hope he hasn't had a heatstroke in there

I think everyone but Vince would be fond of rats, well him and Ashino who would probably scream and call it filthy LOL.

I think Ashton would want a small garden, like one in a large window, maybe not a whole outside garden. He loves roses but they are really hard to grow and need space so he'd probably grow something medium sized.I think there's a type of roses that are really small, maybe those. I'm not sure what types of flowers are best for that. Sadly I myself don't know much about plants as the guys would, I do garden actually, I've got cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, and a bunch of calendula flowers this year!

Ashton likes the goriest, violent movies so he probably would like Rob Zombie movies. (I'm a scardy cat and don't like gore so I don't know much about his movies). He definitely likes things with practical effects or big gooey monsters, and he doesn't care if the story doesn't make sense as long as it looks cool.

Ashton's room has a lot of computer stuff in it that runs pretty hot as well as junk- i mean discounted computer parts cluttering up the place. Also, I imagine that his own body heat contributes to that but I don't know if that's how it works. It's actually a small contradiction that he wears that big coat but hates being hot, I think i made a small mistake but oh well.
