This was an excellent puzzle game. I really liked it. Simple yet difficult!

OOOOFFF!

one year later

Double dash fingerdash Crossy Road

Double Crossy Road :)

I do not sadly.

Just found some online and I think it would work be adding to your list

Hello

As a suggestion for new handhelds to be added, I found a list of manufacturers you have not included handhelds from on RetroFab. Feel free to take a look at these

Radio shack stuff on the second line

:)

Not a bad game. Like the concept. Definitely could be improved, but overall, not bad.

BABE WAKE UP MONAKROM UPLOADED A NEW GAME

I made some puzzles games and a collection of them.

ok

This is awesome, very impressive. I am impressed how you managed to emulate these, even down to using a unique UI, where as with normal downloader emulators just have you launch the game file. Highly recommend you check this out if you’re looking for retro stuff.

Awesome game, fun, I liked it, looking forward to a psychical release

Indeed

Take your time. Make a game between 2020 to 2030. You have way more than enough time to make a prototype I’m sure

I’ll be 23 as well

I’ll be 23 when this ends

Will probably forget about this Jam alltogether

(1 edit)

Probably will forget about this until the day the jam ends smh. Would still be interesting to see nostalgia for the games I submitted when that happens

There are a lot of ways to make games, but how depends on the type of game in question and also the platform you are using

I would look at videos online to learn more about the platform used and the game type you’re making.

And if you REALLY want to get started, I would start your first game as part of a game Jam(Keep your game in line with rules and theme and don’t make a Jam solely for advertising your game)

I’ll be 23-24

Only the HTML version works on mobile

The windows version does not because it is a Windows executable

I have an idea for itch.io

The last idea I submitted(image post requirements listed in quality guidelines) didn’t work out, so I don’t know if this will work out either

What if the adult content warning was also added to posts

This will allow for a little edgier posts.

Right now, you can’t advertise adult games on itch.io via the posts, and this suggestion is not meant to allow that, but it is meant to give a little more freedom in what can be said and done in posts assuming an adult content warning is placed on that post.

How this should work if added is this:Similar to adult content warnings on games, and the post is not viewable until you have enabled the ability to view adult content in settings

You would be able to place it manually, or if you don’t, I would imagine moderators would automatically place it by themselves. There would probably be a limit placed in what posts can be made without an adult content warning placed on it.

This is a blog post I made on my profile called “ok but not ok news”. It’s going over modern topics, and the point is not on adult content or anything controversial, it’s just me doing a brief talk about modern topics. But in the beginning, I said “shit”, in the first sentence. Of course, me saying “shit” here alone would not be enough to warrant a adult content warning on that post, but if I were to create a post with  “shit” in just about every sentence, that would probably warrant an adult content warning on that post.

Of course, this doesn’t permit adult content games to be advertised on the posts, you would still have to find another place to advertise it.

However, this idea is meant to permit posts that go over more controversial topics in the community, assuming they are not over the top or reviews about more mature games on itch.io, assuming the review does not go into the graphic stuff that granted the game the adult content warning in the first place, and also if the review is brief. Of course, posts like those two concepts would have to get an adult content warning placed on it.

This isn’t facilitating any adult content in the posts, so to speak, but it is allowing a little more freedom in what can be posted without placing any real harm in the community like I said.

This is not an idea that the itch.io admins are not obligated to include, this is just an idea. If it does get added, feel free to interpret this however you want,

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any tips to promote a game so it is popular?

I know how to make a good game, but I am curious as to how to promote it so it gets more popular and more people playing it.

Epic game. Played during the game Jam. Played it again, still just as good. Happy to see the game won also there’s a lot of potential for new stuff to be added to the game.

Ah, ok. I was just trying to provide an idea on how to respond to it since I know it would probably take a lot off time of your hands. You make a good argument though, if this is actually implemented then text only games and music would count as exceptions, and high effort posts would also be considered as an exception

It actually does work on mobile if you are using a tablet

(1 edit)

So I’ve been noticing a lot of posts with images lately and I’m gonna be honest the itch.io moderators have as well

I know it’s a bit of a low priority compared to other things, but I have a suggestion

What if we updated the content creator quality guidelines(you know, that document that reads out some of the guidelines and stuff)

The “community” section in that says that if you want to share a project, use the release announcements, and not to advertise your project in other communities.

However, I did not notice anything in that document that states you must include images in posts. It only says to do so in the community rules when posting a topic.

With this in mind, I feel unclear communication regarding this is the main problem. I believe that clarifying this in the content creator quality guidelines document in the “community” section should help in regards to the community, because honestly, the moderators have a lot better stuff to do then warn people for posts with no images in mass.

This simple update with this clarification would take a lot of time of the moderators and admins loads in itch.io as a whole.

I know it’s probably a low priority compared to other things like I said, but I am proposing this suggestion because it seems like the smart thing to do considering imageless posts are turning up more and more, especially lately

If the admins at itch.io don’t implement this suggestion, then that’s fine, I’m just providing a suggestion that has no obligation of being included, but can be if wanted.

Bro in dead seriousness stop spamming.

I’m just someone who’s replying just like you, but best advice to not get banned again is to keep things on topic

If you do continue then I’m not stopping you, but that’s on you.

I have recently released a new tool on itch.io. It is known as “Purplecode”

This tool is meant to be a downloadable HTML app that allows users to schedule events ahead of time, and store the event data directly on their device via a JSON file.

I understand planning ahead can be a tricky process, and can often result in having to rush to get whatever you are working on out in time.

I believe that with this tool, scheduling events, especially on itch.io, should be much more relaxed.

Plus, it’s an HTML file, so it should run on most devices that support it

Feel free to download it here:https://80sonpurple.itch.io/purplecodeitchio-event-scheduling
