Thank you for the compliments!

This is super cool! Beautiful

Thank you!

Thank you!

I think you guys created a  spooky atmosphere in this game, i really liked it! I also like the simple graphic choice, the colour palette and the design of the characters. I think the only thing would be the gameplay esp. when the monster showed up and there wasn't any way to get away with it after I got stuck on a wall with the monster beside me.  But good job overall!

This game is so funny! Love the graphics and the writing  of the devil. It took me a while to get used to the controls, but once I got it, I was cookin'! It was really amusing to be able to cook all and serve up different creatures. Good work!

This is really cool! I wasn't expecting this gameplay, but such a good idea!! And I chuckled at the note at the end, yea making levels are hard and can tiring LOL, i totally agree.

This is a great start of a cute little game! I like the design of the car.

It's too bad this happened! My team and I went through the same thing!

You can do another submission on another itch page and then link the new itch page in the description of this submission! Check out what I did in my submission for  reference on what to do! It's stated on the Game Jam discord that we can do so, so it's not illegal or anything.  Just don't delete your original submission so that the organizers know you have a follow up submission.

That way, at least we can still check out your game - there is still 8 days left, still got time! :)

Good idea! Loved the colour palette choice as well. It took me awhile to be able to avoid the teachers, but it was interesting over all.

This is a cool idea and concept, I think it has lots of potential to become really polished! It took me a while to get a hang of it though as the M/K keys don't seem to respond sometimes. Also, for level 3, I can't seem to the get the door open to look for a light?

I really like this game! It's spooky and also I like how the music played into the time running out feeling. I'm curious how you managed to time the music so that it seems to speed up as your time ran out, and also how you made the flashing lightning, it's cool! I guess the only feedback I'd have is the design of the space, I wish there was a bit more sign posting as to where everything is, like maybe a map or something. I was just wandering around till I found something. Overall, this has been great!

I think this is a great start! The monsters are creepy for sure. The game is challenging in it's simplicity! Also cool graphic and sound when the alien gets you.  I hope you keep working on it.

This is a really cool start. The graphics are great and once I figured out what to do, the controls felt smooth. I think if you had enough time, this game would be even more fun to play.

(1 edit)

Love how simple the game is, it makes for such a soothing idle game, especially with that neat soundtrack :)

Enjoyed the twist at the end! Sheep's really cute too : ) Overall it was a fun experience. Only feedback would be I kinda wish I could see abit more of what's coming up next so that I anticipate jumps or dodges etc. At least there ---were spawn points,  that made retrying not a chore. I like the mechanics of the enemies  -  those were creative, though I wish the wisps wouldn't stun lock you and knock you upwards as it sometimes bounced onto the wisp again on its own a few times and there was nothing you could do about it.

I think you capture the old-school platformer shooter mixture pretty well! The audio is cool too :) Not sure why, but I had to get used to the controls a little. Somehow it isn't as intuitive for me. Anyway, as your 1st game jam i think you did a great job!

Thank you!

Appreciate you taking the time to play! Yea at this moment we didn’t come up with ideas on what cheeky things will happen when a ghost touches the player. Any ideas? :)

We’re so glad that you enjoyed the game and music!  Thank you for playing.

I thought this was a great attempt as a 1st timer. The writing is fun and I like the bouncy head. Only issue I had were the velocity of the characters. Sometimes they automatically slide to an enemy after a high jump. Also would be great to have some additional lives hidden around so we don’t have to start from the beginning again. A coin counter would be a cool addition to add too. Overall I think you did great and the music was cute too!

Aw, thank you so much for your kind words, it's so encouraging for a beginner game developer like me. And yes, after the "gift", the game really does end that way because I thought it just left it open ended and leave it to your own imagination hahaha.  Thank you so much again!

This could potentially be a cute game! Love the design of the jack of lantern.

Hope you’ll keep working at it!

Hello, thank you very much for checking out our game. Am happy to read that you had fun! Thanks again!

Hey! Thank you so much for checking out our game. We hope to continue improving it after the jam voting period is over!

Hey! Thank  you for checking out our game. We noticed that slow down you mentioned, we’ll try to fix it after the jam.

And yes, it’s a pity we couldn’t do more as we didn’t have a lot of time to work on the Jam. But it was a good experience nevertheless. Thank you again for playing!

For 3 days worth of work, I think this is impressive! I think you did a good job the jump scares and the sound effects of the monster moving and munching really helped sell the atmosphere and tension. The only con was gameplay wise I wished the items could be used more meaningful but I think you ran out of time. Good work!

Thank you so much for supporting my game! I’m so happy to hear you loved it and that you also enjoyed the PDF book. Thank you!!

Beautiful game! It was hard at certain points, but definintely doable! Love the art, mechanics and music.

I assumed the "hideout" is the end?

Hey! This is super cool! I love it that you gave yourself a speed challenge in the game.

If I can figure out a way to skip the cutscenes, you’d be able to go even faster!

Thanks for making a video and for playing! Really appreciate it.

Glad you dig the cats! They were the most fun to do :D

Hey! Yea, I hope to work on the controls better after the jam is over. Thankyou for checking out my game!

Hey! Thank you very much for checking this game out - yea I really spent alot of time drawing and working on the code (which I'm bad at because I'm not trained in this, just doing some trial and error stuff)  Based on the current game engine for the gameboy, it seems mouse interaction is not available unfortunately.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback, yea I need to work on the audio/music more.  It was just what I could find off as free assets, I hope to produce a more polished version of the game with better sounds that could enhance this dark dreary mood in game.

Hey! Thank you very much, I'm reallyglad to hear that you got the mood and vibe immediately from the text and graphics. It was challenging to execute with the limitations on the graphics and gameboy specs.

Hello! Thank you very much for your kind words. Really glad you dig the vibe

Thanks for checking my game out. You're right about the little agency - it's only part 1. I haven't even really gotten to the meat of things. Also, I ran out of time to implement a few different choices the player could make in part 1. This will be rectified in my update after the jam is over. Hope you'll check it out again then.

Thank you!

Hello! Thank you for checking it out - I actually didn't finish the game at all. There are still some buggy controls, not very good sounds and music, and the story is incomplete! I hope you'll check it out again later after I've completed it (we can update it now anyways because the jam isn't over :)

Nevertheless, thank you for playing
