Thanks so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the vibe :)

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah the scooter can be a little bit cumbersome at times, especially if the game is running at a lower framerate, which it usually is in the web player. Idk if that was your experience or not. I'm looking into it for future releases.

I will certainly try to find some time to give yours a play!

Woah! That's interesting. I'd love to hear more about how you managed to do that if you have the time.

I did not. I just didn't have the time to mess with any of it. I'm thinking about adding some shadows to a later version.

I'm glad someone picked up on the Outer Wilds influence :) I'm glad you had some fun, thanks for playing!

I think someone else mentioned it, but you need to hold Left Trigger while stopped to reverse.

Thanks foy playing!

I tried really hard to get a long render distance. There's a few tricks at play there. But the main ones are that the grass only renders at about 1/10th of the render distance as the terrain. Not calculating shadows also helped a lot with it.

Thank you! I'm sorry you couldn't play. There will be keyboard support in a later version of the game

I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback!

Keyboard was on my radar, but towards then end it became apparent I would not be able to provide the level of control I wanted when turning, as well as showing the new key bindings in the UI, within the jam timeline. It was painful to cut. The post jam version will absolutely have keyboard support.

Thanks for playing!

Hey first of all I just want to say I'm super happy you liked it enough to delve into the game nuances and details! It always feels awesome to know someone likes what you made enough to spend some real time on it, so thank you!

I totally understand your frustrations about finding all the heads. I think that is probably this games biggest flaw at the moment, and I already have tons of ideas to fix it in a later build. So seriously, thank you for the honest feedback. It will help me make a better version of this game

Thanks for playing!

I definitely agree its an issue. I'm planning an expanded version of the game for a full release and this is one of the most important problems I intend to tackle.

Thanks for playing! I'm happy you had some fun!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had some fun :)

I really wish I had time to either make a map, or leave tire tracks or something so players had some sort of idea of where they were / are. Definitely going to be addressing this for the full release.

Thank you!

Yeah that is definitely a problem in the games current iteration no doubt. I'm planning on doing a full release of Moai sometime after the jam, and a solution to that issue is definitely going to be focused on. Pretty much anyone I had play test ran into the same issue.

Thanks for playing! I really liked your game btw

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it!

Totally agree. I'm working on plans now to expand Moai into a full release and those two things are very high on my list.

I think you've built some really great platforming mechanics here! There simple but really versatile.

Unfortunately I kept getting a bug where after I died I would respawn off screen. After the fourth time I decided to put it down. But I definitely want to play this more after the bugs are sorted out!

Its obvious you guys know how to make a shooter that's for sure! The controls feel pretty tight, especially the aim which was nice. The level of polish here is very high, especially for a game jam.

Unfortunately I just can't see anything. The things that stand out most on the screen are the visual effects, and at times, that's all you can see. It just makes it hard to play, which is kind of a shame because I can tell you guys are super talented and made what is otherwise a really solid game here.

Unfortunately for me the game does not seem to agree with my computer setup :( I have an ultra wide monitor and the mouse is like 2 - 3 inches off of where I'm actually clicking. I'd love to play once the issue gets sorted out.

From what I cans see the game looks very pretty though!

Thank you! I'm glad to here! The reception has been a lot better than I was hoping for, which has been really cool. I'm in the process of planning out an expanded full release

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Its an interesting concept! I wish there were more opportunities to pick up guns, and that I could move faster.

This is a great little puzzle game! There are some real head scratchers here

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Especially the puzzle elements :)

Thanks! Yeah I put the game on a single stick so my girlfriend could play. She has trouble using both sticks at once. But I think in later versions there will definitely be a look around action on the right stick, that won't really be necessary to use, but will be helpful for those who want it.
More air control and like tricks and things are also on my radar too!

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed playing Skaterwitch btw!

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Its a nice little tower defense game! I wish I  could see the range of my towers though.

This was awesome. The first game this jam that has actually made me laugh out loud! Chair lift mode was great and the other like 5 or so skiing modes were awesome too!

Punching trees into the sky will always be a good time! I do kind of agree with the sentiment that this stretches the jam theme a bit. But the game is good! and the PS1 aesthetic is really cool too.

(1 edit)

It's a fun little shooter! I wish there was a setting to automatically pick up the powerups, because if there is not a reason not to pick them up, I'd rather it just do it automatically. But that might just be a personal preference thing.

I had fun! Its a simple game but its super intuitive and the presentation is really good. I feel like this would make a great local 2 player game.

The game is presented really well and I really like how you interpreted the theme. The idea that he has to dedicate processing power to make the world 3d is funny and really smart. Most games that do the 2D / 3D switching thing don't put much thought into the why, so seeing one actually have a good reason is nice.

Unfortunately the game keeps locking up for me. Especially in the basement of the saloon. I'd love to play again once the issues are resolved, but as of right now I put it down after my 4th lockout.

Really nice presentation! The idea is super original too!

I had fun! The drifting took me a bit to get used too, but once I did I felt like I could control the car pretty well! I like the radio stations too. I would love to see some police cars come after you in later versions.

I'm sorry, it was built for a game jam and I ran out of time before I could get keyboard and mouse controls in. There will be a future update next year which will address this. Thanks!

Thanks I'm glad you liked it! Doing flips and tricks was definitely something I wanted to do too. But I just ran out of time. I'm thinking about expanding this into a full game, and if I do tricks will absolutely be included. Thanks for playing

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

This is a really awesome review and I just want to say thanks for taking the time to write it! I'm glad you picked up on some of the small details I put in there.

Tricks are definitely on my radar as well. They were on my list, but I ran out of time before I could get them in.

I also thought about adding a right stick look around. I probably will for a later build. The main reason I didn't is because my girlfriend really struggles to play games that require two sticks, and I try to make sure she can enjoy whatever I made. So I wanted something that didn't require two sticks to play. But now I think I could probably add a look around feature on the right stick, which would help those that want it but wont be required for those that don't.

I knew someone was going to cheese it! I totally agree though, at least for this build, its up to the player to decide how they want to go about it. And I'm okay with that, at least for now.

Thank you a ton for playing and the thoughtful review. I had a lot of fun playing Bigmode Jam Kart btw!

Thank you! Yeah there is definitely some refinement to still be made around the island landscape so you don't get physically stuck, as well as with the puzzles and navigation so you don't get mentally stuck.  Thank you for playing!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

We have music! Did you here any SFX at all? Maybe it was a volume issue, or possibly a bug on our part? Thank you for playing

Thanks for playing! Yeah the license plate bug never got fixed during the jam. Will definitely fix it in another release after all the voting and stream happen.
