Aw, you're right. I just marked it as copyrighted, but of course, feel free to share the tracks.

Thanks a lot!

I'm sorry, these tunes are not intended for that purpose.

Thanks for the reply!

Of course you can release music in itch, but it lacks the most important feature: a built-in player. Something like this would be great (it’s what I’m currently using): https://github.com/blackle/blamscamp I don’t think we need anything similar to Spotify, just an (official) built-in player for releases.

Having the possibility of developing musical experiences is nice, but it’s not for everyone. Many musicians aren’t into coding or just aren’t interested in doing anything beyond music.

Music making community cries in capitalism.

This is the first time I post in this forum, so if this message is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it where it belongs.

I have been using itch.io for quite a few years to upload my games, both jams and personal projects. The truth is that it is a platform that I like quite a lot: it works quite well as a store, as a space to share links, as a web space for personal projects, etc. On top of that, it is not very invasive and very easy to use. Congratulations for creating something like this!

This suggestion comes from the fact that, besides being a videogame creator, I am a musician, and this field -although it may seem unbelievable- is very scarce of this kind of web spaces. There is soundcloud, which is very impersonal and full of spambots and ads. There are streaming sites like Spotify, which are from my point of view an insult to creators despite being tremendously popular with consumers. There's bandcamp, which is pretty good, but lacks the freshness needed to upload your music with little hassle.

My question and suggestion: what if itch.io offered the possibility to upload and distribute music in a slightly more "official" way? Right now there's really nothing to keep you from doing that: you can upload files and offer and/or sell them without much hassle: we "only" lack a player to embed in our pages, and a "web structure" around that kind of content at most. Make that player easily shareable on twitter and I'm convinced it will be a great success.

I sincerely believe that there is a territory that bandcamp, soundcloud or other platforms don't cover. On your itch page you welcome your visitor, you offer them your menu, you leave them space to comment, you give them the possibility to buy fairly and you even have the possibility to be featured on the homepage. It would be great especially for creators of soundtracks for videogames and related genres like digital fusion. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I think itch is the ideal site for this!

Thanks

Thanks for listening!

yay! best gb homebrew game ever!

:___)

Porfi instrucciones de cómo jugar.

You did a really good job! It's a very first try with ZGB: it feels like a complete game!

Best alpaca walking simulator ever!

Randomly generated dungeons? Great! It needs some kind of mechanic, but as a prototype, this is really good! Graphics are also looking nicely :]

Simple game which expands some features that lots of people wanted to do with the engine (replacing background tiles, using 8x8 sprites). Congratulations tovarich!

Nice simple prototype... made really fast! Next jam we can begin one day before to have some extra time for learning how the engine works :D <3

¡Very good one! Love the graphics and the physics! I would work on balancing and adding more levels, the second one is a bit too challenging :D I'd like to write music for this some day if you want :]

Nice little game! Simple gameplay that goes right to the point :) I wish the worms and rocks went a little bit slower maybe? It's a bit too hard!

The game is very polished: graphics, sfx and music!

Thanks for joining the jam :)

ZGBJAM2 community · Created a new topic Hi Everyone!

Are you excited about the jam? I'm sure we'll have lots of fun.

Say hi and don't hesitate to ask anything related to ZGB or the jam!

I'm Sergio, I've done some games before with Zalo and alone... I hope I can think of a good idea for this jam!

Thanks for playing!

Very nicely done! Clear and snappy gameplay with a funny ending!

There's a huge amount of work in this one! Slick script, art and music. Awesome!

Virtual card games always offer something different in a game jam! Simple and fun idea with great art and audio implementation.

A very fun and original concept, with a clear message about how media interacts with masses.

Weird simulators are always great!

Awesome (and hard) gameplay with a great idea behind! It would be great to expand this game with a tutorial and some levels.
The rewinding effect is my thing :D

Nice puzzle game which needed some extra hours to get some missing elements (enemies and an ending screen). BUT, awesome work! I'd love to see a finished version of this one with a mega-drivish color palette (keep that FM music!!)

You did a great job! Making a game without an artist is always complex, and you managed to achieve a nice product with fun gameplay.  Build silos!!

Original and fun gameplay! You need to study the XBOX pad a little bit :) D-pad control is a bit clunky and it's a bit too hard, but the concept is clear and snappy. Good work!

Simple and fun gameplay once you get how it's played! Awesome assets and integration. Extremely well polished! Flawless!

Simple and fun game, with nice assets! It feels very polished to be a jam game! The difficulty is fair in my opinion, and has lots of "wheeeewh!" moments, which is awesome. Congrats!

Making a game with an engine made from scratch has all my respect!! Kudos and congrats!!

Simple and fun game! The concept behind is really nice! Cool retro feel :D
