Nevermind I figured it out :)

Love the game, totally addicted, thanks! ...but I'm stuck and desperate for help to keep progressing! I beat the big baddie in the tower and fell underground and am now in the inner sanctum under the tower... I fought two battles down here but can't seem to progress -- can't reach some platforms and areas to the north east of the map. Tried digging in the southeast but reached a dead end. Any tips are appreciated!
Happy to help if I can! While I work on deploying a version targeting newer Android releases, I managed to activate a setting with Google Play that should allow the app as-is to continue to be downloaded. Would you mind trying again? I'm also running Android 13 and as I had the app already downloaded, I can confirm it works the same.
Hi there, thanks for your feedback -- I do actually get that question a lot :)
...unfortunately, the framework used to build the app does not support running in the background, so even though it's a feature people have asked for for years, I actually can't implement it short of rewriting the whole app to be native, which means I would have to rebuild the app for each platform. :(
Hopefully this changes somewhere down the line, because I know lots of people want that feature!
Thank you! Certainly -- I'm somewhat new to itch so I may have delivered the update incorrectly, but from the main Just Rain page, if you scroll down to downloads there should be two new downloads called JustRain-20-Win32.zip and JustRain-20-macOS.zip, respectively.
It's not so much an update but a new set of downloads -- so you can delete the copy you downloaded already and download these new versions instead. Please let me know if you have any trouble!
Thank you! Hmm... currently, there's no way to use the purchase on the Android version, but that's not because I'm opposed to it, just because I don't know how, logistically, to tie things into Google Play! Sorry about that; however, the Google Play version is free (with a $0.99 purchase for some extra features), if that's at all helpful. I'll do a little research to see if there's anything that can be done on my end.
Thanks, I'm glad you're liking the app! I will definitely look into your idea for a 'sync with real time' feature. In the meantime, did you know that you can click further down on the screen to make the sky darker? That might help you use the app at night. There is also an 'auto-dim after 5 minutes of inactivity' option that might help.
As for the rain sounds themselves, I originally created Just Rain because I found the alternatives (particularly on mobile) to have really tinny sounds and very obvious, short loops. To achieve the effect you noticed, I'm layering several different sound recordings over each other and adjusting the volume of each as you click in different areas on screen. Each recording is long (over a minute at least) and high quality, to prevent looping being obvious or repetitive. It took a lot of testing and mixing to get it to feel right, I'm glad you appreciate it!
Hi, thanks so much!
Unfortunately there currently isn't an option for a windowed mode... and leaving out an official 'exit' was an oversight on my part :/ So you will have to use Alt + F4 on Windows or ⌘ + Q on macOS to exit for now. Sorry about that! I'll definitely add 'exit' in the next version and look into how easy a windowed mode would be!
Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying Just Rain! Also thanks for the feature suggestion... the app for iOS/Android actually has a few more features including a sleep timer. I'll look into implementing those features on the desktop version and potentially some other timer variants. Thanks again for supporting the Bundle for Justice and Racial Equality!
Hi NeoxSeven, thanks for your support and for reaching out. Ultimately, I chose not to have in-app purchases in the desktop version of Just Rain because it would mean that I would have had to handle the payment/transaction myself (which is somewhat difficult), as opposed to relying on itch.io and iTunes/Google Play, which have built-in mechanisms for handling transactions safely and reliably.
With that said, if you choose to purchase the Extended Features on PC and mobile I will gladly manually refund/comp you for the cost of one of them.
Thanks again for your kind words!
I just released an app on itch.io (not a game), that might be of interest to some of you working with audio.
Tired of ambient noise and rain sounds apps with tinny little 2-second loops, I decided to make a richer rain sounds simulator, layering multiple high quality samples over each other depending on the user's input. Here's the release information:

Just launched for PC and macOS is the latest version of Just Rain, the soothing audiovisual rain simulator that has garnered acclaim on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and OUYA. In this itch.io edition, click in different areas on your screen to change the direction, intensity, and panning of the rain visualization and audio.
While it's NOT A GAME -- it's great running on a tv or a large monitor as a sleep aid or ambient piece. Best experienced with quality speakers or headphones!
