Amazing composition! I'm insanely jealous of people who are able to write super dynamic orchestral boss music like this, great work!

Very cool rock/metal approach, I really enjoyed listening to this submission! The guitars sound great! Personally I don't really think you needed to have 3 alternate versions of the track, it was cool being able to hear the other instruments better but it felt a bit redundant and made the mix feel empty and less balanced
This a really cool submission, great work!
As someone who has suffered from some pretty intense insomnia before I love how you turned not being able to sleep into inspiration! There were some times where the melody lines feel a bit aimless and random, this was most noticeable for me in No Mettle and Reeds, but I really liked your instrument choices and overall vibe!
Great work, thanks for sharing!
This is soo cool! I love the vocal elements over the grainy splatters of sound, and the guitar feeling like a sort of calm amongst the storm. Then the beat drops and it's elevated to something great! You have a great understanding of controlled chaos that I really admire :)
Really cool stuff, makes me want to hear more of your work!
Love that you're experimenting with microtonality! It's something so hard to get feeling natural (some of my favorite artists who do are Birdshite Stalactite and Zheanna Erose). Kinda mad I didn't think to mess around with microtonality this jam haha
Anyways this is really cool! Love the use of your instruments combined with the overtone throat singing, that's still so cool to me. Would really love to see you do something big and epic with these instruments and vocals sometime!
Really cool stuff, great work!
Thank you! I do a lot of film photography, it's just a hobby of mine, so was looking though my photo folder to find stuff to splice together. The background photo is a mountain range near my college and the second photo is a photo I took of some roots, I cut out just the roots out of the second photo and messed around with Photoshop's FX/blending options and overlayed it over the first photo, then I did similar stuff to the first photo to make it discolored. Sorry if that's a poor explanation, I don't really know how to use Photoshop I just moved a bunch of sliders and picked random colors lol
Great atmosphere and compostition, super chill vibe! I liked the vocals but they felt a little dry and unnatural to me, I think that could be fixed by adding more reverb to smooth it out and make it more spacey, and/or you could also lean even more into into the robotish tone and add a vocoder which could sound cool
Really cool stuff, love the creativity of adding vocals to a submission, this is really cool!
Really cool chill vibes! I really liked the introduction of the beat at 0:55, I wasn't expecting it but I think it adds a nice texture that fits the rest of the piece really well!
The string ensemble I think could use a little more reverb, just seems a little dry to me, but that's very nitpicky.
Great work, thanks for sharing!
God damn that piano... the violin solo... this is actually incredible, the energy and composition is insane! Almost gives me Muse Dash rainy night stage vibes combined with Nier? Anyways this is amazing, the violin is such an incredible addition and makes me wish I knew string players as good as you, this is great!
Thank you so much for sharing!
I really like how some parts of this just make no sense, like the piano in a Wah just playing really fast, the velocity changing without warning. I feel like in any other context I'd really dislike these creative choices but you make it work! There are some serious volume issues as others have pointed out, but this is still a good entry.
Cool stuff, thanks for sharing!
This means a lot to me! These jams have been a significant part of my growth as a composer/sound designer/musician and I really owe you a lot for this platform of expression.
I've been thinking about pushing that "otherworldly, broken but beautiful" sound design philosophy into something more abstract in a jam sometime, the competition nature of the jam has always kept me from going too weird and inaccessible but I think it'd be fun to try maybe.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for hosting!
Thank you so much! I still feel like I'm at the start of of my music/audio journey so hearing that people think my work sounds professional means a lot to me!
Your criticism about the mix is valid, I blame the reverb, I think I could improve with how I integrate reverb into bigger and higher energy sections.
Thanks for listening!
I'm really stupid with guitar/music theory so I don't know the exact names of the chords I was playing so I made a quick mock up of the tabs and basic chord shapes (there's some movement in the chords). I hope this helps? It should be mostly correct but there is a chance that there's an error since it's pretty rough. The intro and first half of the main part is relatively easy since the chord shapes allow you to keep your fingers in roughly the same spot, but the second half in the main part that moves to C is always tripped me up. I'm really glad you like the progression! It was fun to write. I hope the tabs make some sense!
Intro is on top, main part is on the bottom:
Really cool sound design and instrument choices! The production and mix sounds great to me, the lofi warble is very neat!
My one complaint is that sometimes it felt like the synths and orchestral elements were clashing especially in the first and second track. But I did really like how you treated the orchestral elements almost like synths with the effects, it gave it a cool and unique vibe and really added to the texture.
Cool entry, great work!
