Hello all,

Welcome to the devlog for NOVA DRIFT.  But first, a link to the coming soon page and a trailer...

https://pixeljam.itch.io/nova-drift

As the page says:

"Nova Drift distills the mechanical depth of an action RPG into classic arcade space combat. Your ship rapidly evolves as you defeat enemies, allowing you to shape its abilities and weaponry to your desires in a matter of minutes. Unlike many action-RPGs which can absorb hundreds of hours of time, Nova Drift allows you to take a ship build from inception to execution in a single game session. "

The game has been in development for over 4 years now by one-man dev team Jeffrey Nielson, aka Chimeric.  These posts are by Pixeljam, the publisher, but we're also making the soundtrack for the game, so we are also on the dev team, right?

Anyway, we'd love to hear your thoughts on it so far.  The game *looks* done but it still needs final sound effects, some new bosses, a little more balancing on the weapons & gear side, and of course general polish is just never ending...

We hope you enjoy checking it out, and we'll be posting more here soon as new updates are made.

So shiny! :-)

I've seen a few games attempt the mix of SHMUP and RPG, and to me it seems like an incredibly difficult balancing act to perform - however from what I can see in the trailer, it looks like you might just have nailed it.  All the best with development!
