Carrion
Carrion is a game about decaying matter.
carrion [ˈkarɪən] noun: the decaying flesh of dead animals.
As a worm, you have an important job, to help return nutrients to the soil by consuming organic material. Despite this, you find yourself in a treacherous world of predators, also vying for nutritious tree-fall and carrion.
Instructions
Controls
- You can use your mouse or keyboard to control the worm (see "known bugs" if you have a trackpad).
- Click and point with your mouse and the worm will follow.
- Use the arrow keys ←↑↓→ or WASD to control the worm.
- Click Esc to pause.
Gameplay
Find and eat all the decaying matter in the level, and watch out for predators and other carrion insects who'd like to make a meal out of you.
Biting into organic matter will start the decaying process and will grant you length. Take as many bites as you can before the matter fully decomposes to score more points. If you take damage from predators, you'll get shorter. Get too short, and your run will be over!

Known bugs
- Squiggles Jr. as the worm
- Ziggy and Zigzag as the centipedes
- Stingy McStingerson and Pinchy O'Pinchol as the beetles
- Buzz Aldrin and Flutter Nutter as the flies
- Wiggly and Woobly as the maggots
- We have had some reported issues using a trackpad to control the worm. If you don't have an external mouse we recommend you switch to keyboard controls. As soon as you use the keyboard mouse movement will be disabled.
- There are some leaves that will not show bite marks, they will still decompose.
- There are only 4 levels and we didn't have time to make an end-screen, they will loop over once you finish them.
- Try to avoid the rocks. There is some issue in the geometry of some of the levels that may cause the worm's head to get stuck.
Bugfixes
- Update 8/12: When using keyboard controls the worm's head used to spin unnecessarily, it doesn't affect gameplay but many people reported it. We fixed that.
