To Rat
A downloadable game
A pack of rats makes a daring escape. The only thing they can't outrun is fate.
TAROT spelled backwards = TO RAT
Tired of your human troubles? Try pretending you're a bunch of rats (plural). You don't know where you are, only that it has gotten very boring in here. You don't know what lies in the world outside, only that destiny beckons you to find out.
Use the guiding force of the cards, a 12-sided die and your own creativity to determine the nature of the trap your rats have found themselves in and attempt to overcome the obstacles. The stakes are high, their lifespans are short, and their stats are egregiously over-simplified. In the struggle to survive, the rats will have to grow and change. But self-actualization is a dangerously potent force; be careful that they don't rat themselves out.
This is a one shot game with no preparation required. Suited for virtual or in-person, and optionally GM-less. You can even play by yourself if you're feeling creative.
You Will Need:
- At least one player
- 1-2ish hours*
- A physical or digital tarot deck
- A 12 sided die (D12)
- Paper and pencil, notes app, or the ability to remember a handful of numbers
*Based on playtest sessions with 3-4 players.
