Fighting Monsters
A downloadable game
Yes, we were monsters. We had our difficulties and problems, but we were a community, held up by mighty pillars; we did little harm and kept to ourselves, we even worked together to make things better.
Then the Terrors came.
Fighting Monsters is a story-telling and drawing game.
Players work together to create a community of monsters and then each takes the role of a Pillar of the community: unique members of this monster society that help hold things together and guide the others.
Then something terrible will happen: Terrors, beings of great power and size, will come and snatch away one of the Pillars. The game then explores how the community handles this loss and what permanent effects it has on its members.
Supports 2-6 players and requires writing/drawing implements, paper, cue cards, and a deck of standard playing cards (Jokers removed.).

"What a clever spin on the "gotta catch'em all" genre! Deep, very well-written, filled with super evocative prompts! I love it." ***** - Cezar Capacle (@capacle)
"My group and I had a blast playing Fighting Monsters! Building a harmonious community, then watching it be ripped apart and the violent differences that showed themselves as we tried to reconstruct what we had lost was a really fun experience! I highly recommend it!" ***** - Dornath

"But what happened to the hive in the forest I captured this poisonous caterpillar from?"
I am so glad you asked!
A stellar one-shot prompt-based community-building game, about all the monsters left behind, what it is like to come home after a terrible trauma, and what happens to a society subject to the whims of those who would use you for far-away conquest and glory
FINALLY!
Thank you SOOOOO much for interacting with my game and SEEING it's Secret Heart.
Can you ponder it and see the mirror of what you uncovered that the game *also* applies to?
Going out on a limb to guess: military service in general
Which had not occurred to me and now I can't unsee it
Sorry, but that's the OBVIOUS answer, there's one you may not even be able to perceive.
That's an "EXTERNALIZED" social vector expression, what's the INTERNALIZED social expression?
Have you figured it out?
I have not, yet. I love lit crit in the abstract but I am in fact Very Bad at doing it myself
