Hello Chris D,
Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
When you're trying to run something as an administrator and Windows Hello for Business is prompting you to use biometrics for a standard user account, you can follow these steps to enter an administrator's credentials:
1.Right-click on the application or file you want to run as an administrator.
2.Select "Run as administrator."
3.When the Windows Security dialog appears, click on "More choices."
4.Then click on "Use a different account."
This should allow you to enter the username and password of an account with administrator privileges instead of using biometrics for the standard user account.
If the above method doesn't work, you might need to temporarily disable Windows Hello for Business or switch to a password login to resolve the issue.
Here is how you can do that:
1.Go to Settings by pressing Windows + I
.
2.Navigate to Accounts > Sign-in options.
3.Under 'Manage how you sign in to your device', find Windows Hello and either remove the current sign-in method or change it to a password or PIN.
4.Sign out and then sign in with the password or PIN.
After changing the sign-in method, you should be able to enter the administrator credentials when prompted.
I hope the information above is helpful.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Daisy Zhou
