Inspect details of active Warehouse Management mobile app sessions

The whole time that a warehouse worker user is using the Warehouse Management mobile app, the system maintains a work user session for that user. You can view the details of each active work user session by going to Warehouse management > Periodic tasks > Work user sessions. For each session, the Work user sessions page shows associated User name, User ID, Login date and time, and Last user action date and time values, together with a detailed history of XML communication messages and logged errors.

Note

If no historical data appears on the Work user sessions page, a cleanup job, such as Work user session log cleanup, might be running.

The XML messages can be useful if, for example, you must look up mobile device step IDs when you're setting up a detour process. They can also be useful if you must look up field names to use in your barcode data policy definitions. Those fields name must exactly match the field names that are used in the relevant XML messages.

Important

To view the correct XML so that you can find information such as field names and step IDs, you must perform work by using the actual Warehouse Management mobile app, not an alternative tool such as the browser-based emulator.

The following example shows XML content that was copied from a Mixed license plate receiving process. Here, the Warehouse Management mobile app is currently processing a step where Step Id="LoadId". This step includes a control where DisplayArea="PrimaryInputArea" (the display area where controls that are awaiting input or confirmation are typically found) and name="LoadId" (the field name that's associated with the control).
