How to export ONLY chords in a midi file
I want to export ONLY the chords from a piece in a midi file, so that I can have them as a separate track in my DAW. Is there a way to do this?

Your question is difficult to understand. Are you asking about "chord symbols"? like "Am", "F7b9" etc? what would it mean to have those in a track in a DAW?
Or do you want the playback of the chord symbols in the Midi-file? (I would do that by muting everything else, and then do the export. Use the selection filter to select everything else)
Or are you actually asking about chords, as in more than one note played toghether? Or do you just want to export the right hand of a piano part? Or something else?

I don't know if this is what the OP means, but it seems to match what I'm looking for. Is there a way to export a score as a MIDI file with ONLY the chords (generated from the chord symbols), and without the melody? Muting in the mixer affects playback but does not affect the MIDI export.

As an answer to my own question, I added a new instrument, selected the chord symbols (select one, right click, then select similar items on the stave), the cut and pasted the chords to the second instrument. Exporting will then allow selection of the different parts. Works a treat!

Have you figured out a way to automate that?

There is a faster way:
I like to export melody and harmony on different midi files. It would be nice to have an option for that.
