script to color specific notes

• Oct 10, 2024 - 21:25

Hello, I'm looking in existing scripts dealing with colors without any success... the way to color certain notes in red, depending on the octave they are in.
I have a barrel organ, which can play only C D F G in the low octave (bass), then octave above all the notes except C# D# G#, next octave all play, next one only C and D.
So I would like to color in red the notes that the organ cannot play, to see if the song can fit my organ range. In addition, automatically select all that 'wrong' notes could be fine (i.e. to delete them...).
Thanks a lot !

MuseScore does the coloring of notes outside the range of the instrument for you, automagically.
You may need to tweak the playable ranges in the instrument properties for your particular instrument

Hi,
I didn't find how to "tweak" the playable range(s ?), because it seems to be possible to specify only one range, from the lowest note to the higher. I did'nt find how to tell the exact notes I can play (C3, D3, F3, G3, C4, D4, E4, F4, F4#, G4, A4, A#4, B4, C5--to--C6, D6).
If sb can help... Thanks a lot.
I use Musescore 3.6.2

Is this where I ask about color notes? On my Mac, I can't color the notes. I tried plug-ins, 'how-to's' and this forum, and I cannot change the color. I don't know how to request help. Can someone help me know how to ask for help?

And wny does the button below save, "save' instead of 'submit'? That means it's not leaving my computer doesn't it? Thank you! Kit
