Roots: A game about Trichotillomania

Maddie Everrett is your average girl who is just trying to live her day to day life. But there's one thing that stands out about it. Maddie has Trichotillomania and doesn't even know it.
This game will follow Maddie through out her time suffering from Trichotillomania, and how it affected her mental health and the people around her. From the innocent times in 5th grade, to the depressing days of middle school, and finally, the realization she comes to in High School.
This game is based off of my personal experience with Trichotillomania. I'm making this game in hopes to raise awareness of it so nobody will have to go through what I did.
Download
Install instructions
1.) Download the .exe file
2.) Double click the .exe file and extract folder (I recommend extracting it to you desktop)
3.) Once the folder is extracted, open the folder that says 'Roots' and double click on game.exe.
4.) The game should start up then!

As someone who deals with this, I thought the depiction was really good. I haven't had thoughts like "you're worthless" or "pulling hair is the only thing you know how to do", and I don't do it out of frustration, but in general, I thought the portrayal of 'the voice inside your head' and the thoughts that come from it were super accurate.
I also liked how as you go on the hairs get scarcer and scarcer because it reminds me a bit of what my shins look like - multiple bald patches and lots of blunt ends.
I thought this was great and hope more people take a look at this.
this was such an experience! for the first time in my life i felt understood, i also didnt know what trichotillomania was for a long time and i remember everyone making fun of me for it, even my teachers. it's such an awesome short game and i liked it a lot, sending all of my love and support to u!!
