I'm afraid \operatorname needs to be context-dependent. We don't want to add spaces if before or after it we have a delimiter. For example, a(\operatorname{sn}(b)), a[\operatorname{sn}[[b]], a\{\operatorname{sn}\{b\}\} should all be rendered without extra spaces, either before or after.

I think my time is better spent doing what I know, which is editing articles about quantum mechanics on Wikipedia. And if you point out an issue there, I'm not going to suggest that you have to learn quantum mechanics yourself or otherwise pound sand.

Yet another file hit by this bug: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Quadratic_function_graph_key_values.svg

In a recent discussion in WikiProject Mathematics yet another rendering bug was encountered. Several users expressed the sentiment that SVG support in MediaWiki will never get fixed, and it is better to give up on them altogether and revert to PNGs. This is specially frustrating because the browsers can render the SVG correctly, but MediaWiki insists on passing it through librsvg and serving the resulting garbage instead.
