Applications Are Open for Booth Space on Startup Row

2023 is a big year for PyCon US. It’s kind of hard to believe that we’ll be celebrating 20 years of code and community. And for well over half that time, PyCon US has supported early-stage entrepreneurs by offering teams complementary conference passes and booth space on Startup Row . Great news: Applications are now open, but not for long. If you’re one of those action-oriented, “do now, read later” startup founders, applying for a spot is as easy as creating an account or logging into your existing account on the PyCon US 2023 website, and then submitting an application . (The application won’t load if you aren’t signed in.) Act fast, though: Applications close on February 26, 2023, and we aim to inform recipients by early March. What is Startup Row? Startup Row, as the name suggests, is a section of booths at PyCon US set aside for startups that are making innovative use of the Python programming language. Since 2011, over 100 companies have had the opportunity to share what they&

PyCon US 2022 Welcomes 8 Early-Stage Companies To Startup Row

It's official! The Startup Row lineup has been finalized, and we're very excited to give eight early-stage companies a unique opportunity to share what they're working on with the vibrant, diverse group of folks who come to PyCon US. Selected through a competitive application process, Startup Row companies receive the perks of conference sponsorship without the financial burden. Many companies which previously presented on Startup Row come back to PyCon as sponsors. Ultimately, though, Startup Row is the PSF's way of giving back to technical entrepreneurs who expand and enrich the Python ecosystem. Popular tools like Pandas, Plotly, and Docker were all created by Startup Row companies. And some of the companies coming to Salt Lake City may soon become the standard-bearers of their categories. After a challenging couple of years, it's going to be great to get back to the in-person conference experience, and 2022's Startup Row batch is perhaps the most impressive

Startup Row Applications Are Open, But Not For Long!

It’s official: PyCon 2022 in Salt Lake City will mark more than a decade of support for early-stage startups, and applications are now open!  For the “do first and read later” folks reading this, applying for a spot on Startup Row is as easy as creating an account or logging into your existing account on the PyCon 2022 site and submitting an application . Chances are, you’ve already answered very similar questions about your startup before, so the application is quick and straightforward.  Please submit your application before midnight on February 24, 2022! About Startup Row As the name may suggest, Startup Row is a row of booths at PyCon US specially reserved for early-stage companies that use the Python programming language in new and interesting ways. Since 2011, well over 100 companies have been given the opportunity to share what they’re building (and how they’re building it) with thousands of engineers, scientists, students, tinkerers, and all-around enthusiasts who come to Py

PyCon 2021 Welcomes 8 Early-Stage Companies To Startup Row

2021 marks the tenth year that PyCon has granted booth space to early-stage startups that use Python in new and interesting ways. And what a decade it has been! Startup Row has given over 100 companies a platform to share what they're working on with the Python community, and the past ten years of Startup Row shows off the technical diversity and depth of the Python ecosystem. Ranging from data science and visualization, to many flavors of back-end tooling, productivity and communication platforms, super-niche software applications, and even a couple of hardware ventures, the flexibility of the Python language and its uses are on full display on Startup Row. Startup Row at PyCon 2021 Without further ado, here's the Startup Row lineup at PyCon 2021 (in alphabetical order): Bit.io is a cloud database company which allows data teams and data enthusiasts to upload, query, and share data repositories internally or with the world. 10 days left to apply for Startup Row

Back in December we announced the opening of applications for inclusion in our Startup Row event in the Expo Hall at PyCon . It's a great chance for your Python-using startup company to get some exposure and meet the community. We're accepting applications to the event through February 28th . The original blog post incorrectly said February 10th, and the actual application said February 29th, which doesn't exist this year. Sorry for any confusion on that. Here are the rules: Seed stage only. For purposes of startup row, that means less than $350K in outside funding or, if self-funded, less than 18 months old. You must use Python somewhere in your startup. Backend, frontend, testing, wherever. No repeats. If you were on startup row last year, your startup is not eligible. We want to give a chance to as many startups as possible. If you are accepted, you must guarantee your attendance for at least the Expo Hall hours on your appointed day. We will work with you as
