Augustine and Winnie have always been together their whole childhood. Ever since elementary school up until now, when they have graduated high school. They were inseparable.
But now that Winnie got accepted to his university, he is soon leaving town. The two decide to spend their last day together before his move.
Not long after they hopped into Winnie's car, they suddenly find themselves trapped in a freezing blizzard.
... It's currently July.
Cold Front is a short 2.5D RPG Maker horror/narrative-driven game with visual novel/adventure elements following the story of two childhood friends, Augustine and Winnie, suddenly being trapped in a freezing blizzard even though it's the summer. The two have to work together to escape the chilling dangers they are suddenly forced into.

This was a game made for a Korean RPG Maker game jam/contest where you were challenged to make a full game in under a month.
This is the second game I have ever developed and in just 25 days at that so the mechanics, puzzles and storytelling might feel a little short/less-dynamic, but I am looking to improve in the future!

OK? it was really nice, i mean, i thought it would be more violent bcs its horror. BUT even if it was something that more sensitive than i expected i was glad to saw this story(●'◡'●) (I secretly support the opinion about the kiss, smack)

i usually dont cry over games but this made me bawl my eyes out I LOVED IT dahkgdhgdas i have no words the story was perfect and i loved the good ending<3 i would recccomend this to everyone cuz it made me realize some stuff abt my life too, its a masterpiece even tho it was creadted only in a month!

THIS WAS SO GOOD, I love Auggie and Winnie so much RAHHHH, they deserve the world.
This game is so perfect, it has to be my favorite sig <3 the characters are so loveable, the plot is so interesting & deep, and the story was so flawlessly executed in the form of a game! Thanks to my friend for introducing (read as: forcing) me to (play) Married in Red, leading me to fall into the studio investigrave hole (i can't get out!!). All of your games are masterpieces, I'm excited for the other games to come :)
With that aside, I need Auggie and Winnie to kiss. I need them to reunite and get married and rebuild the lil "Augustine 1" snowman every winter.

edit: nvm got out of the chase part by pure luck and the power of being used to having lag, now i can finally go through the story! but please tell me how can i lower the effects of the snow? its what it gives me lag i think

SPOILERS!! THIS GAME IS SO SAD BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT'S REALLY GOOD, I LOVED HOW AUGUSTINE REALIZED HOW HE FELT TOWARDS WINNIE AND HOW WINNIE WANTED TO TALK WITH HIM, I LOVED THE GOOD ENDING BUT THE BAD ENDING WAS PRETTY GOOD TOO, AND I COULD ALSO EMPATHIZE WITH EACH CHARACTER, BUT MOSTLY AUGUSTINE, ISTG THIS IS A VERY GOOD GAME THAT'S NOW ONE OF MY FAVORITES GAMES AND A GAME THAT EVERYONE SHOULD TRY OUT!!! <33
The way the game started got me really excited, but I couldn't get through the chasing screen -,- I tried about 20 times...gonna go watch a playthrough of it now
Update: Found out from a Youtube vid that you have to use the Shift key to sprint XD

hey all mac players!! i think i found a way to save. put the game into your applications folder and it should let you save! it worked for me so i hope it works for everyone else

try downloading the game again. that happened to me when I was playing married in red (im on Mac too), but I uninstalled the game and downloaded again and it worked!
good but the chase sequence is just frustrating, i wish there was at least another option to escape while running. it doesnt add much to the game it is Just annoying - but i love the premise and the characters are good. i just can't tell if getting through the chase scene is worth the storyline ahead yet, so i'm not motivated.. other than that i do really like the art and everything <3

okay so this comment contains SPOILERS
i kinda wish there was another dialogue and choice after auggie pushed winnie down the stairs and there will be two another ending
where winnie calls out to auggie and tries to talk to him while on the floor
choices and ending being:
1. ignore and walk away - auggie will ignore and walk away from winnie and he will wake up in the car with winnie dying, and him having a 'happy' ending (the original bad ending)
2. stay and listen - auggie will stay and listen to winnie and find out about all the wrongs and misunderstandings between their relationship cries and shit... and he wakes up in the car, but ultimately, winnie still dies and he regrets everything, he regrets that he couldnt even say sorry to winnie and fuck a depressing ending...
and then obviously the happy ending which made me cry a lot
so y'all if y'all ever wanna, you know, tweak the game, please add this ending
also i was really waiting for auggie to give winnie some warm clothes

Amazing story! Had me actually invested enough in Auggies story to get both endings! Never had a dull moment!
I think that a perfect ending to this would have been them cutely kissing and then dating ... I am NOT projecting UwU
