South Carolina Health Alert Network (SCHAN) Registration

**Please READ each section prior to completing

Welcome to the registration page for the South Carolina Health Alert Network (SCHAN) system.

SCHAN is a secure web-based notification system used by South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) to quickly notify our key health care partners of disease clusters, outbreaks and other events of public health significance on a 24/7/365 basis.

The HAN is intended for public health professionals such as the following:
Epidemiologists, Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Infection Preventionists, Hospitals, Long
Term Care Facilities, Laboratories, First Responders, Healthcare Service Providers, State, Local, Tribal Emergency Management Agencies, and Law Enforcement.

As noted above if you DO NOT qualify under one of the intended categories please do not register. Each section is required to be completed, failure to enter requested information may result in denial of registration. This is to allow proper placement in the correct group for HAN Notifications. Without proper placement you will not receive HAN Notifications. We strongly recommend updating your contact information at least once a year and/or as soon as any contact information changes.

Your information will be kept strictly confidential. If you need assistance, contact the following:

SC HAN Administrator
Shana Dorsey
Email: SCHAN@dph.sc.gov Desk: (803) 898-0431

Phone numbers and emails must be different, you do not need to enter if you do not have a valid alternative. (Failure to follow directions will result in a failed registration)
