Web Site Visits
For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes and collects only your domain name, but not the e-mail address, unless you volunteer it. Science & Technology Studies uses standard cookie technology, which you can disable through your Web Browser Options, to store visitor’s preferences, and record session information. We do not use Cookie technology to harvest email addresses or other personal information. Additionally, when you view our site by linking from another web page we may store the name of that web page. All the information collected through cookies is for internal use only and is used to compile aggregate information to analyze site, page, and service usage. The aggregate information collected through site visits is used to develop our services to our readers.
Email Alerts
Some areas and content on the Web Sites, such as TOC Contents Alerting, require you to provide your email address to Science & Technology Studies in order to activate that feature. If you choose not to use this feature, you will still be able to access most of the Science & Technology Studies site. For Contents Alert, user information may be changed by the user at any time by disabling the Contents Alert feature.
As part of the manuscript submission or application for book review process, Science & Technology Studies may require your email address and contact information.
