Inspire

Inspire, the Social Mobility ERG is a new Employee Resource Group that aims to amplify the voice of colleagues who identify as coming from a lower socio-economic background, and encourage everyone to learn more about the impact and challenges that socio-economic status has on the career and workplace experiences of these colleagues.

Our Strategy

As part of the new global Employee Resource Group strategy, the key focus for our ERG is to champion the benefits of diversity at Barclays, whilst sharing the lived experiences and nuances of our diverse colleagues at Barclays. As we sharpen the focus on Diversity at Barclays, the ERG strategy will focus on four main pillars (Attract, Retain, Develop and Engage).

Attract

Internal and external engagement – Providing greater support to the Barclays D&I recruitment to identify and engage a diverse pool of candidates:

  • Connecting with local and regional low socioeconomic communities to attract a diverse pipeline of talent into Barclays

Develop

Developing colleagues with multiple dimensions of difference – Foster a diverse and inclusive environment to ensure members reach their career goals while contributing to Barclays’ D&I objectives via three components:

  • Working with the business and colleagues to understand and develop appropriate programmes, training and education to tackle barriers to development and promotion.

Engage

Connect with business leads to explore collaboration opportunities:

  • Facilitating conversations and sharing insights to engage Barclays colleagues around the topic of socioeconomic diversity and inclusion.
