It was a funny and unpredictable experience. The events were so random that I never knew what would happen next. The game boy style made it even more charming, and the humor kept me entertained the whole time. It’s a short, silly game that I really enjoyed!
Thanks for playing and making the video!
This was so much fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I literally just created an account so I can comment how fun this game was. Be warned it is very short, but funny, and worth your time! Definitely how some dreams go!
Thank you very much for playing! So happy to hear people are still enjoying this little game years after its release :)
Hi! I'm wanting to take games made for GBJam and make them for Gameboy! Would I be able to get the assets and build for this? If possible, the GB studio project too? This would be for my own personal use :)
Hey there, this game wasn't made for GBJam, it's not an actual GB game (it's made in Unity) and I'm not planning on sharing any of the assets :)
No worries! Thank you for replying!
I dont know what to do the clue isnt very helpful
You'll find the solution eventually and if not you can always take a look at one of the many playthrough videos on YouTube :)
Really enjoy this game!! However, I would like the text to be smaller or something like that so it doesn't need to scroll down. Also, I would love to see more games like this! Thanks for your hard work!
Btw, why is the elevator so mean lol
Thanks for playing! I really wanted to go for an authentic Game Boy feel/aesthetic and the textboxes just were that way ^^' If I ever continue work on the sequel I'd definitely make it better :)
I really don't know :P
Cant wait to see what else you do for the future :)
Thank you very much for playing! I'm really glad you enjoyed it so much :D
One day I'll make/finish a sequel ;)
I picked this on a whim and played it with my partner. It was lovely and cute and we were both delighted. The sprites and little animations and sound effects were super charming, and I love how later puzzle solutions were foreshadowed like the messed up room. Thank you!
Thank you very much for playing! Really happy you enjoyed it with your partner :D
Thanks for sharing this in the Racial Justice and Equality bundle. I really liked it!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm really happy you enjoyed it :D
This was a very nice and neat little game. It was humorous and cute. Highly recommend it! The only thing that could be optimized would be the text box and the size of the screen (even when it's full-screen) Overall a very good game! Looking forward to a sequel!
Thank you very much for playing, the kind words and feedback! Could you tell ne exactly what would make the text box better? Are you talking about it being annoying to scroll through? And when it comes to the screen size, you're talking about it not being widescreen?
It was a bit troublesome to keep hitting space to continue the text, as it most of the times stopped halfway through a sentence, halting the flow a bit. A suggestion could be to make the box bigger to fit more text?
And yes! It fit the cute, pixelated and square-aesthetic, but I wish it could've been bigger.
Still, I really like the game!
Ah yes, that's what I thought :) I went for an experience as close to a real GB game as possible, haha. A sequel would be in widescreen so it would fill up the screen and then the text box will be bigger too so less scrolling.
Thanks again!
It was a really wacky and fun experience, it feels like that child's play of telling a story together, and when the climax comes... whoah!! Really good ending, best 47 minutes of my life!!!!
I loved the whole game, hope you make more <3
Thank you so much for playing and the kind words! I still have a sequel in the works but development has been slow for the past year as I've been focusing on commissions but I plan on working more on it next year :)
High expectations!
I was pleasantly surprised by this game. Very clever and fun. I liked all those Nintendo easter eggs (Smash Bros, Metroid, etc). Original story for a short game, fun dialogues and good execution overall. Can't wait for the sequel! I like the Game Boy look, but I would prefer a Game Boy Color color palette. I know this is more work but it would look so much better while keeping the same overall look.
Thank you very much for the kind feedback! I'm really happy you enjoyed all of it :) The next game will be in color for sure ;)
Bro this game is really good! Good game!! I loved it.
Thank you so much, really happy you liked it!
Great game ! Really liked it !
Congrats for making this. I need to see more ^^
Thank you so much again!
Hey this is great! I love how nice all the little animations are. It was a lot of fun, good job.
Thank you very much for playing!
Checked it out on stream and my chat and I loved it to bits. Its adorable, creative and extremely fun. I'm incredibly excited for the sequel, whenever it might come about :)
Thank you so much for playing and steaming it! Can I rewatch it somewhere? :) Development on the sequel is a bit slow as I'm focusing on commissions atm but I hope to work on it more soon. I do development streams at times if you're ever interested in seeing progress (you can find me on Twitch as SiegfriedCroes) ;)
Here you go!
Beware tangents; but I did manage to get through it rather quickly. I'll definitely be checking you out on twitch as well :D Thank you, for the fun experience!
Still need to watch it but sure will eventually. Thanks in advance for checking out my stream! Currently working on a goal widget and will get back to working on my game afterwards :)
Very cute little game! I really enjoyed the graphics, they're super cute, ESPECIALLY the little walking animations. The little easter egg posters are fun to find and helped me remember which room was which, which was a nice touch.
my stream of it here
Thank you very much for playing it on stream! I wish I had been there so i could've told you that you missed that investigation table haha, the hints in chat were correct but those events don't trigger yet without knowing about the investigation.
I'm glad you liked the graphics (and overall polish of the game), they were made by me specifically for this game and aren't available as an asset (saw someone asking about it in chat).
As you noticed during the credits the game was indeed made for Ludum Dare though I did spend A LOT of time afterwards polishing it :)
Thanks again and look forward to the sequel ;)
I thought the art assets were custom, especially with the little easter eggs and of course the unique player animations! Your work is lovely.
I heard someone in the comments say the palette is swappable?? I totally missed that, I'll have to go figure that out and see for myself.
And I am definitely looking forward to more!
Thanks again, so happy you like my art!
Yes, you can in the settings (sepia, black and white or OG Game Boy green) ;)
I'll try and not take too long with the next game haha :P
I downloaded the game (MacOS Big Sur version 11.2.3) but the Mac said I don't have access/authority to open it even though Im the only person using my Mac and I did all the steps to give myself access to the files according to the Apple instructions but still can't open the game... Anyone have any idea how I can play it?
Sorry to hear it's not working... I haven't been able to test the latest Mac build as I don't own one. I did look it up and it seems like a known issue with a recent version of Unity... I'll look into whether it's fixed in the new 2020 LTS version.
Oh man, this game was such a treat. Short and to the point, doesn't outstay its welcome or exhaust the premise. I actually laughed out loud when the pizza got delivered - it was such a perfect little moment.
Thank you very much for playing! Really happy you enjoyed it and liked my absurd sense of humor :)
Excellent!
Thanks!
Your Welcome! :)
A great game. Loved the art style and the music. It is just a fun little point-and-click adventure.
Thanks a lot for playing and making the video!
I. LOVE. THE AESTHETIC. It nails that old retro GameBoy atmosphere. And the ability to change color palettes is great! One thing however. I was playing this game and I got to the part where you become a mouse and I was having a fun time, but then I had to make dinner, so I closed the application under the premise that it would save, but it didn't so that was a bit of a chore. Other than that, it is an extremely funny and charming game, and I hope you keep up the good work xx
Thank you so much! Yeah, sorry for that. I never implemented a save system cause the game is so short and I felt it wasn't needed. My next game (the sequel to this one) will be longer and will definitely save your progress ;) And I'll do my best to make it even more funny and charming too :D
Amazing game. Great aesthetic
Thank you very much for playing and making the video! Really happy you liked it :)
THIS IS AWESOME! keep up the great work and thank you
Thank YOU for the nice comment! Look forward to the sequel :D
this game was absolutely delightful. even if it was short it was amazing to play and i loved being a little flappy pizza flopping on the ground.
Haha, thank you very much! I'm really happy you enjoyed it :D
Oh wow I thought the code for the secret passage are the numbers on the doors but NOPE, I have to watch a walkthrough only to find out I need to get to a certain bookshelf .-.
But overall I enjoyed the game, looking forward to your possible sequel (?) Plus I like the colors in here, like it's not hurting to the eyes (well for me at least)
Just why we can't access the elevators ;-;
Haha, yeah that's still the hardest puzzle in the game, the hint is "the painting of a man browsing a bookshelf" ;)
Glad you enjoyed it and yes there will be a sequel, that's my new project! :D
Thanks again for playing, the elevator might just come back in the new game :P
Ooooooh that makes sense, didn't thought about that lmao
But yeah looking forward to your sequel
And I'm looking forward to that elevator lol
You can expect lots of references to this game in the sequel, that's why I updated it to make it more playable and remind people of it :)
Can I ask how to update the game? or I just simply delete the old game file?
I know you already found it but yeah just download the game again for the new version :)
This was a lot of fun!! I'd love a sequel !!
Thank you very much! Working on it ;)
Quisiera que este en español uwu
Sadly I don't plan on translating this game...
Lol, a aprender inglés se ha dicho uwu
I'm planning on making a sequel which will definitely get translated so you can look forward to that :)
:0 muchas gracias uwu
It's a neat and nostalgic experience, well done and endearing ! A short and funny experience !
Thank you very much for the nice words!
I really dislike the management... just let me get in the damn elevator ;-;
Glad you didn't try entering the elevator as the old man ;) Or did you? ^^'
ok im gonna play it again, thx i forgot
damn you developer. damed be you from a cheese (my favorite)
And now you can look forward to the sequel ;)
Very good
Thanks :)
I made a gameplay of this game!
I hope you guys enjoy it and dont forget to subscribe to my channel and leave a like.Jkjk.Unless...?
Thanks again for playing! I hope you enjoyed it :D
A tip for future videos: I find it most fun to watch videos where the player reacts to what they're playing. I wish you good luck with your channel :)
Thanks for the support!
Always welcome :)
Super cute, weird and fun!
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it!
It was. I found it very enjoyable. This is a well-developed, professionally-done, small, retro game. This was very fun to play. Thanks much to the creator for this. I'd love to play the other games made by this person.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it. I'll be releasing a new different kind of game very soon ;)
You're welcome.
This game seems promising. Solid presentation. I'll check it out.
I loved this game! It was funny and nostalgic with the sound effects and the things that happen made me laugh. Great job!!! I'm excited for the possibility of a sequel!
Thanks a lot! Really happy you enjoyed it :) I'll start/continue working on the sequel soon!
The game runs at like x10 speed for me... It's pretty impossible to navigate the world (even a slight tilt of the joystick / press of the d-pad and the character will be halfway across the screen).
Sorry about that, it's a known issue that the game runs too fast if you have a monitor with a higher refresh rate than 60 but I can't imagine it's 10x unless you're in some way disabling vsync. If it's the case that you have a monitor with more than 60hz and you still want to play the game you can temporarily lower it in your Windows display settings :)
Odd... I have two monitors and they're both 60 Hz (well, one is technically 59.946 Hz).
(Also, yeah, it doesn't run at literally x10 speed... but it seems like it's at least x3... it's fast enough that I run past whatever I'm actually trying to get to / interact with no matter how subtle the press/tilt is)
After some searching I think I know what the issue is and didn't even know it was an option and makes it even worse that my game isn't framerate independent... I think in your Graphics Card settings your vsync is turned off (by default it's set so that the application decides but it can be set so it's always off) and yeah then I can imagine my game runs at like 1000fps which is indeed more than 10x the normal 60fps. I'm still planning on making a sequel to this game and maybe with that I'll also update this game to fix this though it'll be quite a bit of work. I'll make sure to not make the same mistake with the sequel.
Oh wow! I love this game. The graphics are so cool. I agree with the last comment that at a couple points it was necessary to search every room investigating everything... but I honestly I don't even know how developers come up with these puzzles so kudos to you. Very creative.
Also, I didn't know what to expect in length because some games on Itch are SO short. I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't over in 15 minutes. It probably took me 30-40 mins, which is a good length for a game where you can't save.
Reading below, I am shocked that English is not your native language. The dialogue is so natural and funny. When I have to use my second language at work I spend ages checking what I write, so I know how painful it can be when you don't want to make any mistakes.
Thank you so much for the nice feedback! Yeah some of the puzzles were a bit confusing. I came up with them very randomly :P
Glad you liked the length of the game, it is indeed somewhere between 30-45 to complete which I think is a good length for 1 sitting :)
It really means a lot you like the dialogues! I spend a lot of time on those and I'm glad it shows, also that you find them funny, it great to know that others share my sense of humor :D
Thanks again and look forward to the sequel somewhere in the future ;)
Thank you for making this Game! very funny and enjoyable, also quite interesting, psychologically, i think. The searching for the phono number and dialing it felt al little bit repetitive, though, because its the same principle almost as the chore before. And i had to leave the game to write it down, because i didnt want to memorize it. Also, searching every object in the game for the code...i mean, there could have been a clue or something, where it would have been reasonable to find.
Thanks for playing and the feedback! For the sequel I'll definitely make sure you won't have to remember stuff again (the easiest way is to just make a photo of with your phone assuming you have one) ;) There was a hint, the painting where the control panel is hidden behind is of a man browsing a bookshelf though I understand it's not a great hint because you get it before actually knowing you need it... I might still update the game to improve a few things :)
