Everybody is seeking inspiration, and you can be that for someone, regardless of your role or station in life. I’ve carried a business card with the title “President” on it for most of my career… But, in the last year, I exited as the leader of the company I co-founded, and I am having fun exploring opportunities all around me. The experience continues to challenge me and the societal norms regarding purpose, career, and retirement. I remind myself that my title does not define me, but I still find myself leading in the most interesting places. -Advising adult children. -Supporting a recently widowed parent. -Encouraging friends facing life-changing diagnoses. True leadership is always in the service of others, and in my post-exit reality, I am finding that leadership is more of an attitude than a title. Are you in a position where you could encourage someone? If so, I encourage you to act on it TODAY. Chances are no one else will, and the world needs more credible, authentic, and capable people in positions of influence. There is always room to lend your skills to others freely, expecting nothing in return. Just ask the question – how can I help? Then, listen and be the one who acts.

Hello LinkedIn family! I've had some changes in my life and have some news to share. After several years of leading growth and operational scale at leading growth tech companies (Temporal Technologies, HashiCorp), I am moving on to new opportunities. I am incredibly grateful for my time at Temporal and proud of the work we accomplished together. Specifically, developing and expanding our Open Source SaaS platform with a Consumption model. This strategy led to a phenomenal 4x revenue growth, global market reach, and launching our self-serve signup experience. However, what I'll truly miss are the amazing people at Temporal.  Especially the Go-To-Market, Rev Ops, and Analytics teams. Working alongside such talented and supportive colleagues has been a true privilege.  A huge thank you to everyone on these teams.  🙏 I’d like to give a special shoutout to Charles Zedlewski, Kevin Laughlin, Timothy Hughes, Maxim Mironov, and Samar Abbas for allowing me to learn from you. This recent transition has allowed me to spend time with my family. Experiencing the realities of the “sandwiched generation”, I can’t express enough the challenge of navigating caring for our children and aging parents simultaneously. My oldest daughter is now in her junior year of high school.  And my younger daughter is now entering high school.  😳😳 The transition of one child entering college and the other one entering high school has provided me with deep pause and reflection. While we had a lot of fun touring schools in Los Angeles and the east coast, it also brought to mind post-covid the classic Ferris Bueller quotes: “Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” 😎 While it has been challenging, it has also been an opportunity to deeply reconnect with Kena, my wife, and revisit how we move forward together as a family. WHAT’S NEXT? As I think about my next role, I would like to work with a company that wants to leverage my blend of scrappy strategy with operations and analytics. While I am open to full-time leadership roles, and consulting, the hail mary would be to work with a venture backed company and to take the company through post-IPO. The consulting role could involve me serving in a fractional capacity (e.g. 8-24/hours/week) or advisory capacity where I can add immediate value. I am open to exploring different industries and am keen in applying my experiences in a Generative AI / LLM space (given my recent experiences with it at Temporal). As I continue to deeply support my transition and my family’s transition to high school, college, and our parents aging, I am exploring and want to thank you for extending your network to me. I am invested in having lots of informationals and conversations, and I would appreciate all introductions.  And if you just want to reconnect, I am open - as I am sure we both have experienced a lot of change. Thank you!
