- Developing a strong physical security program is not just an IT problem. Physical security affects the physical world and the way that your facilities are designed and placed can affect how well they can be secured. Placing facilities in areas where there is plenty of pedestrian and vehicle traffic makes it much less likely that an intruder is going to try to break in because it increases the chance that they'll be caught. Even using signs warning people that they're being monitored and are nearing a secured area can help deter attacks.
