I have also taught elementary school, middle school, and high school. I've also been a K-5 Administrator, which provided me with curriculum development, supervisory, and recruiting experiences. I enjoy working with nonprofits, as I was a volunteer on the Board of Directors of Save The Family Institute of Atlanta, GA. Teamwork and grant writing was especially important and enjoyable because it provided opportunities to think outside of the box and involve other organizations as well as other nonprofit groups.

    San Antonio, TX

Summary: Self-starter who has provided client services within two different industries for 4 and a half years as of now. I had worked my first year in providing logistical support in the supply-chain industry specializing in commodities delivery and foods for Stevens Transport. The last 3 and a half years I have been providing tax and project management support at Ernst & Young working on a variety of projects, and assisting in Tax Preparation for some of our largest clients. While working at Stevens, I managed day-to-day operations for a team of drivers based in Southern California, and also managed their work-life balance. I would efficiently and effectively plan their workday in what needs to be done as well as communicate with our clients to provide assurance and consistent updates. I had been recognized as being able to learn the job fast for my technical prowess, and my ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. I was noticed as someone who could communicate with various departments and coordinate difficult situations such as, misplaced trailers, late loads, and compliance issues. I was able to make the appropriate adjustments in order to achieve our main goal, which is deliver high-quality service to our clients in a timely manner. Transitioning to Ernst & Young was a 180 as this is a entirely different industry and set of knowledge and skills that I needed to utilize and attain. I was able to effectively translate the skills acquired while working in the Trucking industry and apply them to the Financial Services one. I did this by accumulating Tax knowledge of how different types of Corporate Partnerships are structured, how different components of the tax filing process works from EY's perspective, and utilizing my project management skills to help propel different engagements and services. I have participated in numerous projects that include working in our ERP system and leading my peers in this service in any training or additional support they may have needed. In addition to working in our ERP system, I have also been adept in leading trainings for new and experienced hires for more than one service we provide. This includes leading a training for over 100 CPAs and teaching them technical details of a portion of our technology, and teaching my peers updated procedures for an existing process.
