FLEXIBLE AND STRATEGIC THERAPEUTICS (FASTx) PROGRAM

The FASTx program aims to transform antiviral therapy by developing rapidly adaptable platforms to combat viral threats. The program will leverage cutting-edge technology such as nucleic acid-expressed mAbs, single domain antibodies, double-stranded RNA-mediated interference (RNAi), and clustered regular interspaced short palindromic repeat-associated proteins (CRISPR-Cas), which can be rapidly manufactured in response to emerging viral threats.

The mission of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) is to develop medical countermeasures that address the public health and medical consequences of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) accidents, incidents and attacks, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.
