Time services based on context

Time when to act or interrupt based on the user’s current task and environment.

Time when to act or interrupt based on the user’s current task and environment.

For AI systems that can proactively initiate interactions with users, consider whether the user’s surrounding context, such as their current task and attention, may impact when and how the AI should act. For example, for an AI system that can send push alerts, consider whether the AI should trigger or postpone action when the user may be attending to critical tasks like driving. In such cases, plan to capture relevant signals about the user’s context and use them to make inferences about appropriate times to act

When applying Guideline 3, endeavor to do so in a privacy-aware way. Consider trade-offs between user benefits and privacy. Consider pairing this guideline with Guideline 17, Provide global controls.
