There has been a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Australian War Memorial since the 1970's if not before. Perhaps a body was first placed in the tomb in 1993, but even that doesn't sit with my memory. We were told during our school excursions that in the Tomb were the remains of an unknown soldier.
