I am a lone indie developer who does this as a hobby, hopefully one day I will get good at this.
I like to play games, but I suck at them as well. Making games definitely is fun, and would recommend other who have a faint interest in making games to try to do it themselves. But word of advice is to start small.
I have currently only made one game: Ballapalooza, a simple ball game that has some puzzle and platforming elements.
I have an ongoing project called Spherikill, the current version is a rough idea that I have at the moment, is a Tower defense game based a lot on Bloons Tower Defense. The idea came when I was in 8th grade, I now work slowly at it every now and then to turn it into something more than a clone of the BTD series. I plan to add a story mode, arcade mode, co-op, and some other goodies to make the game long lasting and fun.
I also have a youtube channel where I post stuff about game development and unity tutorials. I will probably post trailers for my games on there too.
Here is the channel if you want to check it out since it is the only social media I use: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOZ0Iu6F7pJP4IKqHnzEkCA
