English: Assaye was an iron-hulled, fully-rigged ship built by Robert Steele & Co, Yard No 65, for J&W Stewart, Greenock. Dimensions: length × beam × depth: 227.3 × 35.8 × 24 ft (69.2 × 10.9 × 7.3 m). Tonnages: 1,351 GRT and 1,281 NRT. Reduced to barque in the 1880s. Sister ship to Parsee, also built in 1868 by Robert Steele. She has been missing since 1890.[1]
