Description
Русский: Экспериментальная демонстрация генерации и деструктивного воздействия волны-убийцы в волновом бассейне.
English: Experimental demonstration of the generation and destructive impact of a super rogue wave in a wave tank. The experiment was conducted for a carrier amplitude of 0.003 m and a steepness of 0.05. A 10 cm long toy boat is placed 9 m from the wave maker, where the super rogue wave reaches its maximal amplification of a factor of 5. First, the boat floats on a regular wave train. Then, the high-order wave packet generated by the wave maker’s paddle evolves to a super rogue wave and the toy boat capsizes after being hit by the extreme wave. (description taken from the paper)
Français : Démonstration expérimentale de la création et des dégâts causés par une vague scélérate dans un bassin à vagues. L'expérience a été menée avec une amplitude d'onde porteuse de 0,003 m et une pente de 0,05. Un bateau jouet de 10 cm est placé à 9 m du générateur de vagues, là où la vague scélérate atteint son amplification maximale, qui est d'un facteur 5. Au début, le bateau flotte sur un train de vague régulier. Puis le train d'onde très ordonné créé par le générateur de vagues évolue en une vague scélérate, et le jouet chavire après avoir été frappé par la grosse vague (description de la publication).
