Although I am not someone who speaks and understands much English, I really liked it (although I couldn't understand much due to lack of knowledge of the language) and also a sequel or more projects with the characters would be very entertaining :D

(+1)

I absolutely adore the art and story, it's overall so beautiful!

I was just starting playing this game and ths just pop up when i first playing on my phone...

(+1)

Right as you started playing (A line or 2 into the dialog?)

(If so, it might be an issue with the outline shader I'm using-- I'll try and follow up with the creator of the shader to see what's wrong, as this doesn't occur on the devices I used to test :0)

The desktop versions shouldn't have these issues in the meantime if that's an option for you! Apologies for the inconvenience!

It was a very fun experience. I loved the art style and the story was short and sweet. A sequel would be really cool if it's possible. (btw I played on windows and didn't find any issues or bugs)

(+1)

Thank you very much!

Yeah the issues seem to be with some android devices >< I'll make a note of it in the description!

This happen when I play the game

(+1)

Oh weird :0 I guess there's an issue with the shaders-- My fault for trying to be fancy with it-- I'll change it for the android version! (That's what you were using, right?)

(+2)

Should be fixed now! ><

(+4)

We appreciate your hard work 😋

It was definitely really cute. Honestly if you want a cozy read, I would recommend downloading this and the art is a added bonus :))

Thank you very much for reading! <33

This is just in my phone but the screen pits on white whit a code and dont let me play, forwhat? (My English is so bad, sorry)

Oh, I adored this!! 💞 Esca and Fern were such a delightful pair, and I loved how naturally their relationship progressed from "giving each other grief" to "giving each other grief, but affectionately" and even onto something they might eventually, grudgingly, call friendship.

The story was interesting and very well-written, giving us a really neatly-contained encounter with plenty of world-building context provided without going overboard or venturing into the irrelevant. The banter drew me in, and the premise kept me hooked.

The art is gorgeous, and the VN as a whole (through the words, visuals and music) has a lovely aesthetic that really comes together and makes it a joy to read through.

I know some of the other comments have said that they'd like to see more of this, and I've definitely got to add my name to that list too!

Ahhh thank you for such a lovely comment! ;0;; <33 I'm glad you liked it so much!!

I loved playing this!! I adore the character designs and their personalities (Fern in particular!!!). The banter between the characters is very well written and adds so much to the story.

As someone else mentioned, I love the subtle world building without exposition dump and it makes me so curious to learn more about the world!!

I really like the current digital sprites but I look forward to seeing the updated watercolour sprites and cgs!

Ahh thank you! I'm glad you like them ;a; <33 Same for the storytelling! Since it's my first attempt at something like this.

Getting close to finishing up all the watercolors!! I'm excited to switch them out ><

Cool art and story. But god it got borring. I spammed through some parts

I think I know the section(s) you might have had a problem with-- I'll see what I can do to make them a little less spammable :x

(+2)

This is beautifully illustrated! The backgrounds and the water color especially are gorgeous, and the character designs are so cute, especially Fern! I love the little star highlight in his hair. The character writing was also really strong; I loved the personalities of the main three characters, the banter between Fern and Esca, and the gradual growing to trust and respect each other. A lovely little story, I hope maybe to see these characters again someday!

(+1)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like them!

(+2)

Finally got around to playing this!! My friend and I were both struck by how "first episode of an anime" it feels, in a good way, and we really hope you do more with these characters!!

Also really enjoyed the hints of world building without ever defaulting to paragraphs of exposition, and the extremely storybook vibes the third person narration gives.

Great job!!!

(+1)

Ahh I'm glad it gives off that vibe!!

tbh initially I was thinking this could be a one-off but I really like fern and esca.... so I'm already planning some kind of sequel...... I'll see how things go!

Thank you!!

(1 edit) (+1)

I really like the watercolor aesthetics! Definitely looking forward to your next project!

Thank you very much!!

(1 edit) (+1)

AAAAA I know it's unlikely, but do you think you will ever make more content with these characters???? I love them SO much

Edit: Also! Sorry for snooping, but I saw in the code that you were planning on adding more CGs. Is that something you're still planning on doing if/when you re-release the game with the watercolor sprites?

I have plans!! First is an update to Altalite that includes watercolor sprites/assets already in the game, as well as more cgs at roughly where I have in the script yeye-- Currently they're just a couple of scribbles haha but I'll work on fixing that soon.

Honestly, a lot of it's just down to the fact I ran out of time this month- I'd love to do more!! (I'm also kinda eyeing yaoijam and if I'm feeling up to it, I'd love to make a sequel game where I can develop Esca and Fern's relationship a lil more hehe)

(1 edit) (+1)

OMG I'm gonna have to keep an eye out then, I'm in love with these two and the art style of it all. Love it sm so excited for more

Thank you very much!! ><

(+1)

Waaaaa I recognize this artstyle from JKHA. Solo work is tough, nice that you managed to do that. Watercolor is so unusual, looks perfectly done. I noticed the sprite detailing judging by my bit lagging with characters around. So much effort that definitely worth it, despite occasional little mistakes.

P.S. Fern nicely dealt with Esca. Don't. Mess. With. FREAKINGMAGE.

Ohh I'm glad it's recognizeable!! And apologies for any lag-- I did notice the watercolor file sizes are a little bigger than my usual, so maybe all together that makes a difference.  I'll try reducing that down a little and converting everything in the update I'm planning --But thank you for playing even with that!

(+1)

I guess, it has to do with character sprite layers. Because everything goes smooth with just backgrounds, but after loading any character it feels that text goes abruptly at times, nothing more. It didn't ruin my experience at all. <3

(+2)

I miss your art. Its adorable

Thank you!! I'll be adding even more to this game and I have a collab project I'm starting this month for otomejam-- I'll be posting more for sure!!

(+1)

Hey I played your game and it was really good! I'd love to see more art of the two boys! I also loved the banter between them it was sooo good! I'd love to see more of them in general cuz they're so cute! My channel artist Lavindare also loved the game and the boys so much they got right away at working on the thumbnail art!
(+1)

Not fern dubbed femboy LOLL Thank you very much for the playthrough!! I haven't had time to sit down and watch it just yet but I'll be watching it in full as I work on more CGs later this evening-- Please tell Lavindare the thumbnail's adorable!!

(+1)

Every kinda cute boy is a femboy to my chat lol sorry. Also Lavindare just wanted to say thanks a lot, your game is SO PRETTY and she jumped to playing it as soon as I showed it to her!

(+1)

Oh dw it's hilarious to me-- probably not too far off the mark either LOL-- and Aaaah that makes me happy, I'm glad!!

(+3)

I love the artwork and GUI! I like how Fern is an artist and alchemist as well as mage. I like magic systems that require investment, cost and crafting. Congrats on finishing for Nanoreno~ Here's a doodle of Sienna!

AHHH SHE LOOKS SO CUTE ;___: <3333 Thank you very much AAAAA

I'm glad you like it!!

I'm here before the storm. My opinion, the sprites seemed to be better as digital arts. Redraw them into watercolor may caused the sprites to blended into the background. But I haven't seen your sprite watercolor version yet so I just make an assumption.

I was worried about the cohesion with everything else, but I'm glad you like them as-is!  I've made a completely watercolor VN before, so fingers crossed it'll look something like that.

The NaNoRenO jam version will stay up regardless, so the version with digital sprites'll always be around ;0;/
