Pages and media are often deleted on Wikipedia. This page aims to explain some of the many reasons why your contribution to Wikipedia may have been deleted.

Candidates for speedy deletion

Some articles and media are speedy deletion candidates, which means that a contribution can be deleted on sight without a deletion debate or other form of discussion. When deleting files, administrators often leave short reasons such as "A7" for articles about people or other things that do not satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines or "G1" for patent nonsense; these are explained on the Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion page.
