From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]
  • To greet an editor with this template just as it appears above (your signature will automatically replace the ~~~~), place the following wikicode on the editor's talk page:
{{subst:W-graphical}}
  • To add a message in an additional paragraph before the last sentence, use:
{{subst:W-graphical|message}}
Replace message with your desired message. It will be inserted into the greeting before "Happy editing!"
  • To add a message at the end of the second paragraph, usually for welcomes that point out problems, use:
{{subst:W-graphical||message}}
An example can be found at {{w-graphical-anon}}, which is a wrapper for this template that utilizes this parameter.
  • To add a (level-2) heading above the greeting, use:
{{subst:W-graphical|heading=heading text}}
The heading will be what is typed in after "heading=".
  • To add an article credit to the "Thank you" sentence:
{{subst:W-graphical|article=article title}}
Sentence will read: "Thank you for your contributions to article title and to this free encyclopedia."
  • To change the color of the entire message, use:
{{subst:W-graphical|color=color}}
Replace color with one of the following choices (the default is navy blue and orange, shown above):
  1. cyan
  2. pink
  • The above options can be combined:
{{subst:W-graphical|Wikipedia is amazing.|heading=Welcome to Wikipedia|article=Mitochondrion}}
