Music Education is an important factor in the lives of all children. Music should be included in the curriculum of all schools. One specific type of music that could be utilized is the Blues.
Blues - A style of music evolved from southern African- American secular songs and usually distringuished by a syncopated 4/4 rhythm, flatted thirds and sevenths, a 12-bar structure, and lyrics in a three-line stanza in which the second line repeats the first.
The Mississippi Valley Blues Society provides the current information to various celebrations around the world.[1]
The Alabama Blues Project customized speciality programs to fit any school's needs, whether it's a 45-minute introduction to the blues or a month-long, two-hour-a-day, after-school program leading to a public performance. [2]
