The Saddle Club - Series 1 & 2 plot summeries reversed

[edit]

Why have you reversed the plot summeries of the Series 1 & 2 episodes of The Saddle Club? 81.108.192.137 (talk) 21:26, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the plot summaries were copied from other sources on the internet. Unless we can verify that the text is compatibly licensed, we can not keep it on the article, hence the reversion. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 22:08, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why are copies of texts from other sources forbidden? And how can we verify it? 81.108.192.137 (talk) 01:38, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because that would count as a copyright violation, which could create legal problems. To verify it, you have to see if the website contains any text along the lines of "Content is released under CC BY-SA 3.0". The vast majority of content on the internet is not released under a compaitble license, which means we can not copy it, even if the website does not explicitly have a copyright notice.
You are, of course, allowed to use the sources to write the article in your own words, but you can not copy-paste it. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 01:41, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think I copied the sources from https://studylib.net/doc/7326358/the-saddle-club-%E2%80%93-series-one 86.129.31.232 (talk) 22:22, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since the document doesn't include any info about its copyright status, we have to assume it is copyrighted. As such, we can not copy-paste from it. However, you are allowed to use information from it to write your own summary. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 01:45, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have copied those summaries, pasted them on Microsoft Word and making changes to them by doing some edits. 86.129.31.232 (talk) 19:09, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well as long as they are sufficiently reworded, it should be fine. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 20:00, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leighton 718: Hi, just click the "Edit" button at the top right of the page to edit. If you're looking for a guide, Help:Introduction is pretty helpful. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 16:44, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

how do i reference sources for an article and how much references do i need --UltraEp06 (talk) 16:28, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@UltraEp06: Hi, one reference should be enough for most cases. If you are using the visual editor, please click here for instructions. If you are using the source editor, please click here. Thanks, ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 16:58, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
what if i want to create an article for a team i created online for a game UltraEp06 (talk) 09:22, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@UltraEp06: You would need to prove it is notable first. Are there any news articles covering your team? Has your team done anything of note? If not, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia. Please keep in mind that the vast majority of online game teams are not notable enough for Wikipedia; usually only top eSports teams have an article. Please see Help:Your first article for more information. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 17:15, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Njodhan on User:Njodhan/sandbox (22:19, 25 June 2024)

[edit]

Hello I have created a page Tarsem jodhan, but it’s not published yet. Do I need to publish? Please help. TIA --Njodhan (talk) 22:19, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Njodhan: Hi, you would need to put it through Wikipedia:Articles for creation first. To do this, just add {{subst:submit}} to the top of your draft (remember to switch to the source editor first). If you see a yellow box saying "Review waiting, please be patient", you have successfully submitted for review. On a side note, I'd highly advise adding some citations first. Kingdom of Turicum

[edit]

It is not AI generated. I genuinely have no idea how to use this site correctly and/or implement citations correctly. This is a pretty niche part of history but it is absolutely true and happened. I can point you in the direction of reliable sources so you know the information is accurate. Sorry about the inconvience. HisotricalHoundofHistory (talk) 00:16, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@HisotricalHoundofHistory: Hi, in that case, sorry for accusing you of using AI. Where did you get the information for the articles from, if the currently listed sources are incorrrect? I can help you implement the citations correctly. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:17, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Holy Roman Empire: A Historical Encyclopedia [2 volumes] (Empires of the World) by Brian A. Pavlac (Author) and Elizabeth S. Lott (Author) --- The Medieval Constitution of Liberty: Political Foundations of Liberalism in the West (https://muse.jhu.edu/pub/166/oa_monograph/chapter/3497285) and one of the citations I did use is just a book I own. HisotricalHoundofHistory (talk) 00:21, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
king wilhem of turicum was a very advanced and forward thinking man for his day @ARandomName123 HisotricalHoundofHistory (talk) 00:24, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HisotricalHoundofHistory: Regarding the first two books (The Holy Roman Empire: A Historical Encyclopedia and The Medieval Constitution of Liberty: Political Foundations of Liberalism in the West), do they mention the Kingdom of Turicum, Wilhelm I von Gilder or House Von Gilder? ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:27, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the first one mentions them when it talks about the conference in worms when the fiefdoms were granted to the count wilhem von gilder, the second one mentions house von gilder in passing as it was a very "liberal" dynasty in regards to the treatment of people and policy and such. The third one I have has an extensive compendium Of the Holy Roman Empire in 925 ad and its vassals. Its where I got the family tree information for the dynasty. I will try to find it online but the compendium was written in 1918 so it may be hard to find. HisotricalHoundofHistory (talk) 00:36, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ARandomName123 HisotricalHoundofHistory (talk) 00:37, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is tons of missing medieval history on here. Kingdoms, duchies, city states that lasted a day. HisotricalHoundofHistory (talk) 00:39, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HisotricalHoundofHistory: Regarding the second one, can you provide a quote? I have access to that resource (through WP:TWL), and can not find any mention of house von gilder. Specifically, "Gilder" does not appear anywhere, and "Von" only appears twice in unrelated sections.
Regarding the third one, please give me the title. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:44, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello ARandomName122! I am Flying AviaSome. I have simple question about editing. How do I revert an edit? --Flying AviaSome (talk) 09:46, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Flying AviaSome: Hi, just go to the page history, and click on the "Undo" link next to the edit you would like to revert. Sorry for the late response, I forgot that I could still edit my talk page! ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 10:25, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay. When I was a child, I remember my mentor(actually my school teacher) used to not hear my questions, and when he replied, he felt sorry for the late reply, I forgave him, as I understand the stress of a mentor. I also understand your stress as an experienced editor, guiding and becoming the mentors of hundreds of new editors, just like I remember my bygone era of schooling. Flying AviaSome (talk) 10:04, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for sharing the memory with me, and the kind words! Feel free to ask me whenever you have a question, and I will do my best to answer. I hope you enjoy your time here! ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 15:17, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, ARandomName123, thanks for your contributions on the Turpel-Lafond article. Hope you don't think I'm cyber-stalking you, or nitpicking you. :) Because this is a Biography of a Living Person, we have to be as accurate as possible (that's a goal for all wiki articles, of course, but particularly for BLP). Best wishes. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 15:32, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Antony changes (13:36, 9 August 2024)

[edit]

Hello ARandomname123,

Thanks wiki for assigning u as my mentor,

My question is, how to resolve following error in easiest possible manner- This section of a biography of a living person does not include any references or sources. Please help by adding reliable sources. Contentious material about living people that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately. Thank you very much in advance --Antony changes (talk) 13:36, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Antony changes: Hi! The best way to resolve this is to do as the error says, and add reliable sources to the article, that directly support the content. Help:Referencing for beginners can guide you through the process of adding a reference. If you can not find anyway to verify this, you may also remove it. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 13:43, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
