SV

[edit]

There's no problem with the Swedish wikipedia. I've added an image for you there: sv:Quit India Movement. That image:Dores-Kumar_Shri_Duleepsinhji.jpg should be put up in commons instead of enwiki. If you add an image in commons, there's no need to upload it in en:wiki.

Think of commons as a central node. If you upload an image there, it is visible in all wikiprojects. If you upload it in en: it is visible only in the English wikipedia.

Could I request you to change/add a new licence? GFDL is not the best licence for images. cc-by- ; cc-by-sa- is preferable. Thanks =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:18, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The swedish, french and other language wikipedias, are written by users proficient in swedish themselves, there's no "auto translation" software in wikipedia. "Embed" means use the same procedure like you did in the fr: wikipedia. =Nichalp «Talk»= 08:53, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

It's amazing to see your enthusiasm at this age. Thank you for your rare photos. I find that you need some help to get used to the interface here. I live in Bangalore. So, if you live in Bangalore and feel that I can visit you and explain things in person on a Sunday, I would be glad to do so. Please leave a message at User talk:Sundar or email me here. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 09:36, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you don't reside in India. So we'll have to communicate through the talk page only, I think. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 10:11, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your contributions to Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji, Deaerator and Quit India movement. Good to see them. Will keep in touch. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 03:55, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Well, only administrators may delete images. The proper procedure for deletion of images is to follow the rules here Images for deletion. ie. Put a template on the page, inform the uploader and list it in WP:IFD. After seven days, if no objections are raised, it may be deleted. =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:54, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dwarka temple

[edit]

I'm not sure what exactly you want me to do. Please could you elaborate. Thanks =Nichalp «Talk»= 18:36, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I just understood what you meant. :) Tip: If you're searching for the right category to tag your images, you can start your navigation from commons:category:India. The correct categorisation for those images are:
  • Categorise by subject (in this case Category:Hindu temples
  • Categorise by place in this case Category:Gujarat (If there are many photos on Dwarka, create a subcategory of Gujarat and name it as Dwarka.

Both categories are essential and a person might be looking for either photos on Dwarka/Gujarat OR on Hindu temples.

[edit]

Hell. Actually, I'm quite busy these days and unable to spend much time here. Please see the notice at User talk:Sundar. However, I did see your homepage and was impressed when I saw your participation in the Indian freedom movement and how you've tracked your family history. And the little babies were cute.

Regarding suggestions for the web page, I'm not a web designer and hence not qualified enough for that. You could approach a professional web designer to improve your website. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 06:29, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That's called a template. Its like a yellow sticky note you put on a fridge or on books etc. An apt anology of what you did was tear the note up instead of sticking it on a page. :)

What you have to do it to add {{ifd}} to the image page. [[image:xyz.jpg]]. After saving the page, you'll notice a dated link: Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2005 October 8. Click that and add the image name image:... to the list.

As for the Dwarka temples, could you also add category:Hindi temples to those images? Thanks. =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:52, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Err.. you're supposed to categorise it in commons: where you uploaded the images: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Bhalka_Tirth-Krishna_Deha_Visargana.jpg =Nichalp «Talk»= 19:04, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ya, it was Hindu temples, sorry about the typo. Ok, now everything seems to be in order. :) =Nichalp «Talk»= 13:13, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Help

[edit]

Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm a little busy these days and I can login only for an hour or so daily, so may not be able to reply to you. I'll be there on weekends though. I'll put you on to user:Bhadani, who should be able to answer all your thoughts clearly. =Nichalp «Talk»= 19:23, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes sir

[edit]
  • Yes Mr. Chakravarty, it gives me great pleasure to learn about you. In case, you require my assistance, I shall surely be around. However, wikipedia is such a big project that I may not be aware of all the matters - still, I would try to do render all the assistance. And, kindly accept my sincere regards. --Bhadani 06:57, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • T. K. V. Desikachar is really fine and I am sure other editors shall continue to add more contents, albiet gradually over a period of time. --Bhadani 07:11, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New Engineering Wiki

[edit]

Engineering Wiki is a wiki entirely dedicated to collecting information about Engineering. I invite you to join this wiki.

Firstly, I would submit my apology for a late response, as I was on few days wiki-break. I read the page Talk:Prabhas_Patan, and it looks fine. Accordingly, I suggest that you may transfer the contents to the page named Prabhas Patna and start a fresh article. Over a period of time, other editors including you may continue to expand the contents. You are aware that wikipedia is an open encyclopedia and any one can add/delete the contents. You are most welcome to interact with me. Thanks. --Bhadani 08:12, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes sir, Prabhas Patan is really a nice article. A little ‘retouching’ here and there shall make the article superb. Looking forward to see more of your beautiful creations. Have a nice day. --Bhadani 08:35, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent messages

[edit]

Yes sir, I received your messages. I will soon come back to you. --Bhadani 14:34, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes sir, you idea about expanding the Indian Law realted page is really nice. Kindly contribute to that - it requires a lot of information. I also wish you and your family members happy and prosperous Dipawali. Thanks. --Bhadani 05:41, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest that it is always better to upload pictures which one has taken himself/herself to avoid future complications and copyright problems. In case, copyvio arises, images may be deleted. However, in case of doubt, you can always insert a link to that particular page containing the picture or other materials. Thanks. And, wish you and your family very happy Dipawali. --Bhadani 15:28, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The new page created by you, namely, Home Guards is really fine. Congratulations on creating a new page. I will suggest that few sentences about the Home Guards, by way of lead sentences, may be placed at the opening of the article. Further, I think all the photographs are not necessary to be placed on the article page, as they already are there in the wikicommons, link to which you have given in the article. However, it is a matter of individual preference. In the final analysis, the article is fine. I will try to do copy edit and minor re-wording, if possible. Bye for now. --Bhadani 08:38, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I received all your messages. Now, that another article Indian Home Guard has been spotted, and as both have the same contents, they will have to be merged. I will discuss this with more people, and then shall come back to you. Thanks. --Bhadani 07:57, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
