The Family Weekend schedule is packed full of exciting opportunities for families to enjoy a fun-filled weekend of University of Kentucky culture and traditions! Customize your Family Weekend experience with add-on excursions, tours, and other exciting activities. Come to campus for a day to enjoy a football game and other major Family Weekend events; or spend the entire weekend with your Wildcat visiting horse country and touring Lexington. How you spend your Family Weekend is up to you!
Beginning July 8, 2024, register your student(s) and family members for Family Weekend through the Cat Chat Family Community portal. All current UK students, guests, and children planning to attend Family Weekend events must be registered.
Don’t miss out on exclusive Family Weekend apparel that includes a collectable t-shirt, sweatshirt, and tumbler! Family Weekend gear may be purchased on the Family Weekend registration form July 8 through September 15 (while supplies last). Items will not be sold on site and may be picked up by you or your Wildcat during Family Weekend Check-in. If leftover items are available, we will reopen sales after Family Weekend.
Update from the UK Athletics Ticket Office: The tickets designated for Family Weekend participants for the UK football game vs. Ohio University are now sold out. Fans are able to purchase verified resale tickets through Ticketmaster.com for this game and other games. Use caution when purchasing from any other sites or from people you do not know as ticket authenticity cannot be guaranteed.

We encourage you to book your hotel soon as rooms fill quickly during Family Weekend, and check back later this spring for the latest details about Family Weekend 2023.
If you would like to provide a UK family experiencing hardship the opportunity to attend Family Weekend, consider donating to the UK Parents Philanthropy Fund. Gifts made to the University of Kentucky are tax deductible.
Due to the large number of hardship waiver requests, hardship waivers have been put on hold. If you are in need of a hardship waiver, please email parents@uky.edu to be placed on the waiting list.
If you are looking for a fun way to get more involved, meet students and their families, and help make Family Weekend special for all Wildcats, consider serving as a Family Weekend volunteer! Volunteers help with check-in, set up for events, greet guests, hand giveaways, and much more! Learn more and sign up to volunteer and share your availability on the Family Weekend registration form.
Make Accommodations Arrangements
The University of Kentucky campus is large and Family Weekend guests may be required to travel longer physical distances and stand at events. If someone in your party needs a wheelchair or other mobility equipment, please make arrangements ahead of time to bring equipment with you or rent from a local vendor. ADA parking is available on campus with any ADA parking permit and event drop-off location information is available on the schedule. Bus shuttles will also be available for Family Weekend guests on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 9 a.m. - 1 hour after the football game. Shuttle information can be found on the Family Weekend website or UK Guides mobile app. If you need additional assistance, please contact parents@uky.edu.
The Family Weekend team will do our best to accommodate disclosed dietary restrictions but cannot guarantee completely gluten-free, dairy-free, or nut-free spaces. If you have any unique dietary concerns, please identify them on your registration form and contact parents@uky.edu prior to September 1, 2024.
