Get Involved

Parents and family members of current University of Kentucky undergraduate students who are seeking to share feedback about the student and family experience at UK and get more involved in the Wildcat community can apply to serve on the Parent Advisory Council. This council of approximately 30 -50 members recommends programming activities for the Office of Parent and Family Engagement, gives feedback about university programs, discusses issues of concern to family members, participates in campus outreach and events, and assists with the recruitment of prospective council members. 

During UK's annual Labor Stay weekend, Parent and Family Engagement and Student Support Services are partnering up to host our second Self-Care Package Party. Any UK student can stop by the Cats Den on Friday, August 30, 12 - 2 p.m., to make a self-care package for themselves, their roommates, and/or their friends. Many items are donated by UK parents and family members through an Amazon wish list. 

Parent and family volunteers are needed to give students and families a warm welcome and direct them through the move-in experience. Contact UK Housing for more information. 

If you are looking for a fun way to get more involved, meet students and their families, and help make Family Weekend special for all Wildcats, consider serving as a Family Weekend volunteer! Volunteers help with check-in, set up for events, greet guests, hand out t-shirts and giveaways, and much more! Complete our volunteer interest form and we will reach out to you this fall with more volunteer information.

Throughout the year, the Office of Parent and Family Engagement will ask members to complete feedback surveys and polls to help us know how to better serve your needs. Surveys and polls will be available through Cat Chat emails and the University of Kentucky UK Parents Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
