While I appreciate the game it's definitely not for me, I couldn't even beat one enemy, the instructions were plenty clear enough I just suck at bullet hell games. I like the strange shape changing bullets though an I wanted to keep coming back to try again so that must be a good thing.
Thank you for the kind words! I know bullet hell games aren't for everyone, so thank you for still taking the time to play and comment!!
I must say first that I love the way all the noises create music!
It was not too hard, but not too easy as well. It's a good balance. I had fun playing it. :)
Thank you for the kind words!! I really appreciate it ^-^ And thanks for taking the time to play and comment!
Very cool and fun shmup/bullet hell. If you are looking to improve the instructions on how to play I would suggest Using multiple screens to relay the information rather than just cramming it all into one. Showing a demonstrative animation to go along with the explanation would also help. Nice game keep at it!
Thank you for the feedback! Those are great ideas on streamlining the tutorial--I appreciate it ^-^
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for playing! :)
No problem dude!
As is the norm for bullet hell games, it can be quite difficult, but pretty enjoyable nonetheless once you work out the enemy patterns. The diminishing amount of weapons and disruptors certainly ups the difficulty as you progress, but the game is a solid entry into the jam, and quite fun. Nicely done!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you made it through despite the difficulty--it definitely could use a little smoothing in the future :)
Thank you for the comment and feedback!
Loved the music reacting to the player. The bullet hell gameplay was really cool even though some were much harder then other(the ones coming from the bottom have a huge advantage). Really liked your approach!
Thank you for the kind words! Very true on the difficulty, the paths could use some polishing (and some variety!). I hope to dive into that in the future :)
Thank you taking the time to play, comment, and give feedback!
Really cool !
Thank you! And thanks for playing!
Really cool music and how it ties in with shooting, I think I would like it a bit better if the arena was a little larger maybe, but still a fun little music game and you fit the theme in pretty decently!
Thank you for the feedback and kind words!
That's a good point on arena size--it would make it easier to add multiple enemies in the future, too.
Thanks for playing and commenting!
Really enjoyed this. The variety in enemies and the ability to chose your weapons was really fun, and the sounds added a really nice touch. Overall just a great game, nice work!
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it--thanks for playing!
Loved the music notes while shooting and how that gels together. Nice clean graphics. Would love if when I died I didn't have to select again so I could quickly get my next game in. Great job!
Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate the feedback, too! For the first level, the 3 powerups are auto-selected, but I could have the previous selection remain after a death--I'll try to make that experience smoother so that players can focus on the gameplay :)
Thank you for spending the time to play and comment!
I’m a huge shmup fan, so I had a lot of fun with this!
The patterns were well done, graphics were clean, and I liked the notes playing for bullets. Funny enough, I did that for one of my first game jams years ago for a Pong clone haha!
The different weapon upgrades were a good use of the theme and also the disruptor preventing different enemies. I do wish there was some music though. You can actually make it work with the bullets by making the bullet notes the same key as the background music.
In addition, I beat the mission 3 times, but now it’ll let me play with zero weapons. Is there a secret way to beat the enemies with no weapons? If it’s impossible, I’d suggest putting a game win screen or something similar to let the player know that they won.
Overall though, great shmup, had a fun couple minutes beating it!
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback!
First, I want to let you know that there is a 0 weapon win state. I'll just say that there is another way to do damage (check the powerup/disruptor select screen).
Glad you enjoyed the game!! It was my first attempt at a shmup outside of a "my first game" tutorial, so I'm happy you liked the patterns and nice idea with your Pong clone as well for the notes=bullets ^^
I let a constant BGM slide this time in favor of letting weapons exclusively "generate" the soundtrack, but more fleshed out music would be nice in the future so it doesn't get stale--I appreciate the feedback!
I see it’s the dash. I actually went back and fully beat the game!
Thanks for coming back and finishing it! I really appreciate you taking the time to do so ^-^
What a funtastic gameđź‘Ť. The music is pretty cool.
Thank you and thanks for playing!
this section make me confuse on start, you should be add note for required and not required selection and minimum selection man.
Overall is good, your game unique
Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback!
Sorry the menu was confusing.. it was one of the last things I completed before the deadline.
I updated the how-to section in the game page, and the "Press x to Start" should be dynamically displaying the remaining choices for powerups and disruptors. It's no fun to have to read and understand a bunch of text before jumping into a shooting game, it will definitely be something I fix first!
we need an expansion of it.
So happy you want more!! Thanks for playing! :)
Made it to the end!
Honestly, this was a very charming game. The music-based attacks gave everything flavor and, honestly, I haven’t seen that many shootem-ups in this game jam yet.
This is a solid submission. With a little more polish, this could genuinely be something I play in my free time. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the very kind words! It means a lot to hear that!
Thanks for taking the time to play through the whole game and provide feedback! :)
