Before I play it the second time, I felt this was a bit like Earthbound, which is good! I think the story is interesting and for the type of game it is, you are doing things right! Like for example, You receive an item, the game tells you. The emojis are also what games like Pokemon used to have (If I'm remembering it right). This is exactly what this type of game felt like and still feels on GB and other consoles. I can only score 1 star on sound, which is a sad, but the rest is getting a good score. Well done! I hope you continue with the good work!

Great story telling! I wish more people play your game. It’s a shame that you only have 6 ratings so far... 

I love the transition from title to opening scene and the same from ending back to the title. 

I am curious about what’s in the other room. Is there really something?

The other room is not implemented in the game, but in my lore it's the kitchen of the house. It can't be accessed because Herman placed way too many boxes with stamps in it. The tower of boxes collapsed one day and blocks the kitchen door now.
Herman is calling the pizza delivery daily since that day.

Makes perfect sense!!! You are such a good story teller! I really need to learn that. My game totally lacks story. Partly because I ran out of time. But even if I had enough time, I don’t think I could have made a story as engaging as yours.

Nice game! i tried a few things, but i have no idea what to do to avoid the bad ending. Good looking graphics! Audio would have been nice.

I wonder how a story so short could be so touching.  The only thing lacking from this lovely little tale is some music and sounds. My eyes almost had tears in them at the ending, but if there was a happy song playing, there surely would have been some water works lol. Ich liebe es! <3

The story is close to my heart, so I'm really happy that I could touch the heart of yours as a player with it.
About the music: To be honest, I had to come up with the game in the middle of the jam, because I initally wanted to make a puzzle game, which GB Studio sadly couldn't handle. I rushed through the development of this game because of that, but I personally can't compose music and I thought it would be a little too late to ask a musician for help. That's why I didn't included music.

It's good but the killer is that you can't walk diagonally and that there isn't music :(

I don't feel that a lack of diagonal movement takes away from gameplay. A lot of older games, like Zelda, don't allow for diagonal movement. This is not only done to save on animations, but also because of the math behind diagonal moves. For example, if your character can move in any straight line of 4 directions at 1 pixel per frame, then the diagonal movement speed will not be 1 pixel per frame. Instead it will actually be a vector splitting the hypotenuse of the linear movement planes. This diagonal movement speed will instead be 1.41 pixels per frame.
