Wow, you submitted this almost two days before the deadline? that's mad, hat's off for that for sure. The game is visually really nice, nice soundtrack and effects and it has some basic story that makes it interesting. my only gripe woul be poor visibility/contrast of enemies with the background, that makes it pretty hard to dodge them, there is just way too much coins/enemies on the screen. I also feel like the game would be better suited for a vertical format.
We got a working game uploaded, then we continued to edit it until the deadline with art, music, and gameplay upgrades. We are planning on updating the art so that the enemies and obstacles will be better visible when the jam is over. Thank you for playing our game!

Thank you! We wanted to keep it simple but effective. Our main goal was to present a polished experience with great sound. The art team and music team delivered huge, and our programmers made the game feel smooth and pretty free of bugs. It was a team effort from start to finish. We really appreciate you playing our game!
The gameplay loop is really satisfying, though I'd definitely spend some time fine tuning the frequency of spawns.
I'd also love to see some variety in how the enemies attack maybe some swooping in or loosely circling you until you bat them away. I find the presentation amazing, aside from obstacles blending in quite a bit.
The Kobold is super endearing!
We didn't have a lot of time to dwell on specifics, but we determined that a 60 second loop was best for each round. We would definitely like to do more with enemy variety and the way they behave. You have given some great feedback! Thank you for playing our game!
Wow, the concept's great and I love the art, both the pixel art graphics and the music work great! Personally, I found the background a bit disorienting which made the game screen a bit hard to read. Some of the enemies would also blend in with it, making them quite difficult to spot, and I had some trouble to use the shrinking feature correctly, but I overall enjoyed the game!
We're glad you liked the game! We're going to work on making the obstacles and enemies look a little better. We'll fix the key mapping as well. The game works with a controller, which might make using the shrinking feature a little easier.
Beautiful pixel art! And I loved the gameplay, collecting 4-5 coins with one swipe is so dang satisfying. The leaderboard is such a nice touch too! I wish 'scale' was implemented a bit more, but I like the scaling down to dodge enemies. Well done, I really liked this.

I really like having a leaderboard at the end, i loved the pixel art and the character, the controller is quite cool but the difficulty was super low, even when there was a looot of ennemies on the screen. Overall it's a very good game, nicely polished !!

This game looks beautiful and gameplay feels great! One nitpick I have is that I found the enemies and rocks blending in with the background at times, making it harder to avoid them.

i really love the art in this game, its very cute! the gameplay is really fun as well, grabbing coins and dodging obstacles feels super satisfying. the only problems i had were that the obstacles were a bit hard to read and that the controls were a bit too floaty, though the game was otherwise really enjoyable! nice work on this :)
We will be working on updating the art to make the obstacles stand out a little better. The controls were supposed to feel like the kobold was falling. It is difficult to change direction in mid-air, so that is what we aimed for.
If i had a coin for every game i played in this jam that features a kobold as the player character, i'd have two coins, which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice

Simple but fun arcade-like experience, not hard to understand but a lot of room to 'git gud'
The only small nit-pick I have is that the rocks, especially the blue ones, can be a bit hard to see on the background. That combined with how quickly they fly can make avoiding them a bit annoying. But other than that I didn't have any real problems with the game.
Overall good job with the submission.
Also as someone who also uses Game Maker, the camera/parallax scrolling is really cleaver and makes it a lot more dynamic than it would otherwise be.
Thank you for the feedback. We will be updating the art so that the objects are easier to see. The more you play, the more the difficulty scales. After a few runs, there's stuff everywhere.
The graphics are cute but occasionally a little hard to read, I found it difficult to tell the difference between the background and the rocks in the moment. Scaling was nice but I'm not really sure how much it helped me to dodge. At first I thought the shrinking was actually perspective and I was moving back in the well. Although the parallax effect is nic, I think the shrinking would be more clear if the well wasn't so deep into the screen.
thanks for the feedback. the shrinking was one of the last things we added. i like that you interpreted the shrinking as going back in z-space

This has got to be the best looking game I've played so far! It's very fun seeing how many coins you collect and a little frustrating to get hit by the creatures. I guess that's a skill issue on my part though :D

That was the initial plan, but we ran out of time.
I immediately thought of Downwell when seeing this. Really nice pixel art and parallax is really nice, I would just slow the parallax when the player is moving up the screen to make it feel like your falling slower. Overall really well done!

Love the pixel art. The parallex bgd for me is the wrong way around. The foreground should move and the background should be more or less static. Just my observation.

Really great visuals! Gameplay reminded me of those old top down scrolling helicopter shooter games. Might be a skill issue on my part but would have liked for slightly less slippery movement.
Geez, I remember playing these helicopter games like 10-15 years ago 😹. Good stuff, ngl.
