Fun music, but I wasn't quite sure of the goal of the game or how I can score points.
Ah.. that’s not good :-/
Did you check the tutorial? It’s this little slideshow that’s supposed to explain the goal. Maybe it needs to be updated?
Ah, I replay the game and press T to check the slideshow. I managed to score one point so far lol. On first try I only checked out the written description so I didn't fully get it.
I feel like some design choices made the gameplay quite unwieldy, like the decision to make you not able to "jump" on the box after a certain size, making the "sizing pads" stationary and you have to push multiple boxes back and forth, or unable to interact with the cubes anymore if you push them into the corners. Nonetheless, good job for finishing it and submit anyway. I hope you consider continue working some more on this game to make it more fun.
There is a "drag" button if you hold shift, so it's possible to drag boxes out of corners :) Will think about how to make this more clear though!
Having a limited jump height is a deliberate design decision, to encourage combining the boxes into stair-like compositions. Likewise with the stationary sizing pads, where we want to create a more frantic back-and-forth gameplay, and where an important part of the player's skill is learning how to measure up box sizes from afar. But will take your feedback into consideration, the important thing in the end is to make a fun game!
Loved seeing my little pink guy gets squashed with how big the square can scale. Cool mechanic and got challenging due to the time and the faster ticking sound design towards the end. Good game on the jam! :)
Glad you liked it! 🙌
The music was really well made! The mecanic was a nice idea but I feel like there should be a way to make it become more difficult overtime or something, I got to 25 until I got suck in a wall. Once your first "ladder" is made you don't need to alter the blocks much, maybe something to do with that? Nevertheless fun little game.
Thank you! The music was really fun to make 😄
And thanks for the feedback! Definitely room for improvement when it comes to difficulty (and the “stuck in a wall” part too hehe)
I'm a fan of the little fella, cool game
Thank you, I am a big fan of Huey as well!
A funny little game, would have been great to have more mechanics to make it more interesting in the long term but still pretty good
Thanks, yes, evolving the game play over time is definitely next on the list!
It reminds me so much of Portal 2, i don't know if it was an inspiration ? Anyway that was a cool game to play, thanks !
Thank you! Portal was a big inspiration theme wise. The research lab setting is something we would like to make more pronounced in a future iteration!
The idea and music so fun lol. This one should be seen by more players
Thank you so much!
Really fun concept! Sometimes it was hard to get, whether you're near a block or not, so an Xray outline could fit well. In overall, well done!
Thank you! Yeah there are lots of stuff like that we would have fixed for sure if we had more time 😌
