Thanks for playing our game and leaving a thoughtful comment!

About the resolution; it actually was set to 1280x720 on itch initially. I assumed it was squished due to the GMTK banner being added after submission. But i just checked again, and you're right, it was set 1280x360 for some reason. Fixed that lol

Wonderful visual style. A little bit of game juice would do nicely here.

The one big issue is gameplay depth. While i did enjoy finding out what each of the abilities look like, the game did not compel me to keep playing beyond that. Functionally the differences between the abilites were too small.

Still, a submission to be proud of. Well done!

Thanks for playing our game :)

To answer how we were so quick with this, i'd say it's mostly due to the small scope of the game. Everything we had to do was pretty straight forward and nothing we hadn't done before. I was just adding one thing after the other and crossing it off the list without any problems. Much different to last year's jam where i was trying something i hadn't done and was stuck on a single thing for hours.

It also helps to know when and how to use certain plugins to save time.

Pretty fun. Played till i had the game going at 1 frame per second, due to the absurd amount of fish. 8)

Well done!

Well done!

Well done!

Thanks for taking the time to play our game :)

Thank you so much, i'm happy you enjoyed it :)

Thank you :)

Fun little game, i enjoyed it :)

Wonderful art style and a refreshing take on the theme. It needs a little something to make the gameplay loop less repetitive, but i have no idea what it is. I'd definitely be interested if you decide to take this further.

5* from me.

5* all around. Looks really good, feels really good and sounds really good. Got my rusty brain cells going as well. Good job! :)

Thank youu :)

Thanks for taking the time to play our game :)

Wow i'd never seen that game, that is spot on haha. Thanks for playing :)

Thanks for taking the time to play and leaving a thoughful comment. Will definitely put that on the list of things to improve, in case we continue to work on this. :)

That one took me a WHILE. Well done.

Gave you a follow and will be waiting for an update :)

Very pretty. Fun controls except for the water levels; super frustrating.

That's a juicy game. It feels pretty good but it's really missing a challenge.

Enemy pathfinding needs improvement. The pickable objects don't feel very impactful. The black hole shake & distortion effect goes WAY too hard.

Well done!

I love this because of the wonderful art style, but i'm unable to enjoy the combat. I'll definitely revisit if you plan on improving this game.

The main issue i had was with the controls. Holding a button to scale felt bad especially when you had to do it in a rush. The downward scaling being tied to jumping and attack at the same time was needlessly difficult. Facing off with an enemy had me taking at list one hit nearly 100% of the time, even though i felt like i shouldn't have taken the hit. This lead to me just avoiding enemies altogether by jumping around. I would say just slow it all down a little.

It's clear that you have put thought into polishing the game feel and mechanics, which makes it especially sad that i couldn't make it further into the game in a reasonable time frame due to how frustrated i got with the controls.

Absolutely wonderful graphics and fitting sound effects (nice bokoblin sound). I love that you took the time to create a story line and visualized it so nicely.

Well done!

I love the art style and the humour, but i just couldn't figure out how to cast a line.. it was just janking out on me. :(

What a lovely idea. Very cute art style and the music is nice. It feels quite good to play as well. Although there isn't much of a challenge.

The file had not been removed. I gave it a good few tries as well. It does play the popping sound that it does when rescaling the first sign, but it just doesn't resize the platform..

I like the idea, but what this game really needs is solid platforming polish.

The movement is not snappy, the jump is way too floaty and the hitboxes are super harsh, with invisible edges. It's also always a bad feeling when the platforms you're standing on don't take you with them as they move (the horizontal ones). Sadly i could not get past the first level because the trampoline note was buggy as heck for me. Also, there's something off with the resolution scaling, i had the settings button in the middle of the screen.

I get that you had to implement scaling somehow but having a 'stop' and 'go' would have had the exact same effect on gameplay.

To mention some positives, the art was refreshing, the music was lovely.

Well done!

There's some wonderful unique art here. This really needs a bit of environment because as you fly around you can't really tell if you're even moving. The shooting does not feel very impacftul.

I don't think the scaling up as you shoot mechanic offers much in terms of being engaging gameplay. Sure it's a trade off in a way of "oh i cant just hold left click because i'll be easier to hit" but it's so easy to avoid that it's just not a problem.

The enemies seemed to not shoot at me if i was at a certain distance away from them, while i was still able to shoot them. That made the game very easy.

Anyway, well done!

No it did not.

I tried to give this a go but i couldn't even get past the tutorial. What am i meant to do here:

I tried shooting, left click, right click anything i could but nothing happened.

Will check it out after work, later today :)

Thanks for playing our game. :)

You neeeed to check out LimboAI if you're looking to implement AI in your game, it's so good. It really helped me understand how to use behaviour trees. And AsepriteWizard is in every project i make now, because it makes the work flow of putting animations from aseprite into your game so easy. Yoink away!

That makes sense :)

Yes, i mean larger window size with the content scaled up to fit.

Very fun. Haven't seen many games with story lines so that was a nice change of pace. I liked the humour. The stamina management was quite challening but i made it to the end on the second attempt :)

Well done!

I quite like the idea. The character sprites look wonderful. The 3D scale was a nice touch. Having upgrades to choose from is always fun.

I had a couple of issues though. There was a bug where after the time had run out, the game unpaused and i got the ran out of lives message because there were enemies that attacked me before the next phase came up. The projectiles and the chili were way too fast to have any chance to react.

Aside from that, the game would really benefit from some juice 8)

Solid submission, well done!

That is a crazy amount of polish for a jam game. Very well done.

The game crashed after i crashed the car city. I guess that's the best time for a game to crash lol

Game feels nice and polished.

It just needs more to do; simply dodging the guards gets repetitive quickly. I don't quite get the point of seeing a ghost of a previous run. It looks nice but it doesn't add to the gameplay, which was disappointing.

Still, really well done!

Haha, yea that is a mighty wall of text. Thanks for taking the time to play our game :)

Thank you, that is very nice :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment :)

Thank you so much :)

Lovely little game. I love the artwork!
