Really nice game! :D
I love the concept! Everyone knows impatient dungeon masters are the most dangerous creatures...
The graphics are very fun, and the turn mechanic is very in-theme to DnD.
Fighting the monsters tho revealed to be suboptimal, so I just ran all the time.
I noticed just a few strange things here and there, like how sometimes the enemies hit me through walls or after dying (I think that's what's happening, I took a few random damages mainly during the labirynth level), and how sometimes weapons don't hit at their range or are not very clear how to use.
Overall, a very nice idea with potantial, would love to see it expanded, like when the game Master enrages adding hazards to the map, or changing the layout, or something else entirely!
Wow, this is a very interesting game!
Desperate, bleak, sad, but also...hopeful?
I appreciate games where I can see pieces of the author. The game may be simple, but the idea behind it is really well thought. I liked the various soundtracks offered and the scenario of the game itself. This is not a game of who scores the best. This is not a game of who is the better one. This is a game where it's all going to end anyways so why care so much? Just...go live! (I liked the double meaning there!)
I appreciate there are many different endings, and the different choices given to the player to explore every possible answer. Only complaint, sometimes there were choices that meant mostly the exact same thing, it would be really nice to have some more variety!
Overall, a nice, inspiring game! Hope the best for this one, it's definitely a fresh experience.
A very...stressful game (in a good way)
The artstyle is great, and the game is simple but intuitive once you get to know it (I finally managed to finish a run with all 6 surviving!)
The audio perfectly summarizes this game: pure chaos (and stress inducing)
Only thing, an in-game tutorial would've been nice, but I understand you didn't have much time for that.
Overall, a nice short game that does great at everything it wants to be. Good job!
Really cute and fun game!
I'm really a tower defense enjoyer, it got me glued to the screen for a while! Definitely a great time killer! (I am at wave 38 and counting)
The only things I noticed was that some options were severely underpowered (melee and traps), and some others definitely too good (chickens and pigs, but mainly chickens). Maybe the costs should scale the other way around, with towers keeping the same price but upgrades scaling more and more?
Also I noticed a bug where prices don't reset after restarting the game (you must reload the page for prices to reset)
I would maybe like an option to sell or move the towers.
Overall, a very fun game!
Oh wow this game is SO COOL!!! :O
I love what you did with the theme, and the title, really original and stands out!
The gameplay, although it requires a friend to be there, is reeally interesting and fun! The animations are all well done and fun and the randomization of moves each round makes for very chaotic battles (and limits move spamming, as the self destruct move exists).
As for all the rest, LOVED the animations that play every 10 kills! they are incredibly funny, laughed every time (considered I watched those anime or seen the memes).
I don't know if you plan on continuing this, but I really hope to see this evolve! I would love a singleplayer mode with you VS ai, or even a online multiplayer mode! It would be absolutely sick and I would play it for hours! :D
Interesting take on a tower defense game! :D
The graphics are great and low poly designs blend really well!
Although I have some critiques to make, mainly the fact that the game is a bit too hard in my opinion. The enemies are a lot and they swarm you easily. I would've also liked to be able to shoot the laser myself instead of waiting for it to autofire when aiming an enemy.
Also maybe having upgrades would be cool? (if there are I missed them)
Nice little game, I'm always up for a creepy visual adventure! (just look at my game haha)
It was an interesting visual adventure, even if short.
The limited color palette really gave it an old time feel, as well as the buttons.
The graphic style is symple, but works well in context.
Tho I also have some critiques: firstly I found the text to be a little too fast, as seen in other comments it would be good to have to press a key instead of waiting a fixed time (maybe with an indicator on screen that you have to do so, maybe replacing the "speak" icon with "continue dialogue" icon?).
The initial and final text were also very fast, I didn't really get the story the first times because of this.
Also, the first time I played I was confused as I thought I did everything, but I then figured out I had to speak more to the same people. Maybe there could be an indicator to tell you have a possible interaction, or obscure the "talk" button after having all the possible interactions?
Also, does the game have music, or did it bug out while converting to web game? (I remember happening to me sometimes)
Overall a nice visual adventure with great potential, and a very fun and intuitive UI! :)
Very fun and interesting game, this got potential!
I must say, combining farming and bullet hell might be a really cool idea!
I love the fact you can "choose your own challenges", and the projectile variety!
The only critiques I have are, at the start, I would've liked a tutorial on where to click (when I first bought the vegetables, I thought the game softlocked before realizing I could plant them on tiles), and then I clicked randomly for a while before realizing I could sleep.
During the bullet hell part, I felt like controls were a bit too slow and some things were straight up undodgeable
Also, I don't know if it's implemented, does anything change depending on where i planted the vegetables?
Overall, you got a fun little game with a lot of potential! The innovation on the genre really shines on this one, I would love to see this concept expanded upon! :D
"Ahh, what a nice, relaxing game about tidying up a house before guests come in...
...wait, is that blood?
Nah, it must be ketchup or something like that.
Let's receive the guests!
That's strange, the theme of the jam was "calm before the storm", but everything is calm right now...
...oh."
But really, great little game! The theming is just on spot!
Just found the controls to be a bit slow, but thinking back, that adds a lot to the tension.
Good job! :D
Wow, this is a really fun game! Played it and beat Bert!
Here are my thoughts:
I start this saying I'm a great fan of tower defense genre: PvZ, Bloons Tower Defense, and those alike.
I liked the towers, the graphics, the ambience, and the 2x speed feature is always very welcome in any tower defense!
Tho, I have some critiques about the gameplay, that I hope will be useful in balancing and making the game better if you want to expand on this:
Mainly, I noticed the "interest" mechanic works not to make the player decide how to spend their money wisely, but moreso to never spend the last 1000 (because the max is 10). So, after the first 5 or 6 waves where you regain 1000, it's like it's not even there.
Also, the meta of the game is very spam-centered, as the basic towers are absolutely busted and will do the same DPS (and more) than more costly ones. Bomb towers are also absolutely useless, both in the earlygame and in the endgame, due to not having a great range or damage, and being very slow and costly. Fire towers are nice (I love flame ring tac spam in Bloons) but basic towers just outclass them in every stat. Electric towers are very strong, but do a lot of overkill damage (so reducing their overall DpS), and the presence of not very high HP enemies makes it essentially outclassed by everything that is crowd control (even the big enemies get destroyed by groups of basic towers).
I would've also liked to be able to change the targeting options during a wave for more tight situations (yes, I micromanage a lot in Bloons) as there is not much else to do after the planning phase, other than holding space.
Then, I also noticed some strange stuff going on with projectiles that seem to not have hit but actually have, but I guess that's just how the game is coded.
But overall, great game using the Tower Defense formula! I would've liked to try endless mode if I had more time! Best of luck! :D
Fun little game!
I like its premise, of needing to escape the storm, and being cornered by all natural elements!
The difficoulty spike in the game is very high tho. In the first part you don'e even mind the beach balls being flung around , dealing only 1 damage, but the last part is super tight, with a billion cars to dodge that deal lots of damage! But I managed to reach the end. Phew! (even if this makes the gameplay pace a little strange, guess it's extra points for the theme, as the first parts are definitely calmer than the end ones!)
The wave sprite could be a little bit longer to the left, for now it seems more like a death beam than a wave.
But overall, very fun, obstacle dodging game. Had fun playing! :)
Oh, about the second thing, yes I am aware there was a melee attack with the weapon, it's just that It felt strange not being able to use any attacks at all while the weapon is thrown (I often just didn't throw at all because the melee attack was just as powerful and reusable). That might just be a me thing, tho, as I tend to be pretty hyperactive in games haha.
Wow, this is a really cool game! :)
The gameplay loop is fun and challenging, and the ending is very intriguing...really gets me wondering what will happen next in the story! (if you plan on expanding this)
The soundtrack is groovy and accompanies the gameplay very well!
I still have some critiques tho, mainly the sound of the monkeys being a bit too loud, and the fact of being completely udefended when you don't have the weapon, making bad throws very punishing: maybe there could be a basic attack that cannot deflect projectiles but still does a bit of damage? Also, death is not really communicated (I initially thought there were only 3 levels in the game, but no, it was just me getting repeatedly obliterated by the storm at the end of that level)
Overall, fun experience! As said I don't know if you plan on expanding this, but it has potential! :D
Wow, very nice game!
I love the atmosphere it brings!
The gameplay is very fast-paced and challenging and the controls are very precise, which I appreciate, also I must admit I couldn't complete the last level (it could've been out of frustration haha)
Movement options are varied and give a very high skill ceiling.
Sounds are great! (death sounds are funny)
I have some critiques, mainly about the main gimmick of the game (the torch): it gives off a great ambience, but it's not really clear how it adds to the gameplay, seeing all threats are illuminated and you can just memorize the layout of the level during the first tries. Its strongest point is in the suspense it brings, but it isn't given much time to be appreciated when you have A GIANT SAWBLADE TRYING TO SLICE YOU TO BITS!!!
Maybe the torch could have some gameplay interactions, other than exploration purposes?
Also maybe I got a critique on level intros, a bit too long in my opinion and they break the fast pace of the game after the first time you see those.
But overall, very fun!
Oh yes sure, always happy to give more detailed feedback!
So, first thing, I played in normal difficoulty.
I found that, during the "endgame", the storm is really more of a slight annoyance than a perceivable threat, as you can rebuild everything it destroyed like, 2 times over in seconds.
The first time, I got to the third storm having 200+ settlers, +600% or so card generation speed, and an almost endless constant stream of resources.
The second time (played again right now), I got to the second storm having the same stats (if not more) and I would've been able to build the faraday device before the first storm, if it wasn't for bad card luck. Both times, the storm destroyed maybe 1/10th of the whole bridge.
I found the "main meta" to be building the highest number of cranes and smelters (more iron = more lighthouse = more settlers = more workshops = more cards = more everything). Then, just build cooks and food farms, and aim for the Faraday Machine.
I found the most OP thing to be the possibility to increase card generation, as they give the most resources (obviously). The strat to build lots of lighthouses and workshops is really OP.
I hope these informations will be useful for the development of the game! Best of luck with it! :D
Oh wow, this is just...AWESOME. O_O
I cannot believe this was made in 7 days. Really.
Even if you used many pre-made stuff, graphics, etc, you built it in a way that is pleasing, fun, and addicting!
The gameplay loop is fun and intuitive. A really interesting take on city builders. Maybe just a little unbalanced (but we all do like unbalanced games, come on!)
Needless to say, this got me stuck to the screen for a long time. You really got something here, and it works!
