itch.io seems to be set up correctly to make godot games work now. So it is likely your browser just doesn't support these features. If you want, you can try playing on the newest Chrome or Firefox. Unfortunately, Mac support is very spotty, so if you're on Mac you may be out of luck.

The reason for all this trouble is that unfortunately, Godot has decided to use some extremely experimental technologies for their web export that do not have support on 100% of browsers. It does like a fix for that is finally on the way though: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/pull/85939 So at least once this fix is live in a stable godot release, we'll check whether it works for the game, and then hopefully browser support should be a bit better!

Hi! It looks like your browser might not support WebAssembly or a related technology or you might have it disabled, or there might be a bug with your setup or in Godot that prevents it from working properly.

Please check the following:

  • Check whether WebAssembly is enabled at https://wasm-feature-detect.surma.technology/
  • If not, check about:config. Search for "wasm" and enable all options except javascript.options.wasm_verbose
  • If it is, you can try to send a bug report to Godot at https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues. I see you've had this same issue many times. While I appreciate that you report it, no developer will have the time to track down this kind of deep-in-the-game-engine issue for your very specific browser setup (especially for a free web game). However, if it's fixed in the game engine it would be fixed for all games you play in the future.

Thanks, the game should now properly scale to a high dpi!

Thanks very much, this is now fixed!

You clearly have! :P Thanks very much, I've fixed it, that was a weird bug!

Hi, if you want a downloadable version of the game you can get it on Steam! Is there a reason you want an older version?

Alright, thank you very much for the detailed explanation! I'll fix it.

Thanks for your report. Do you mean "swap it with a port" on a map that already has invalid port placements (back from before this update)? Otherwise, I don't see how you would get an invalid placement by swapping two ports, and then an example would be appreciated.

Hi, Apple doesn't make it possible to export saves in mobile device browsers. You can save and export in the app though, it has a free version: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/the-final-earth-2-colony-sim/id1603079261

They are a placeable tile, you unlock it at 15000 production

Hey, happy you like it! You unlock new tiles by increasing your production/minute. The first time you expand the map it's vertical, the second time will give you some extra horizontal space too.

Hey, sorry to hear that! Please make sure your browser accepts third party cookies and doesn't delete cookies on close. Third party cookies are required as itch.io uses a separate website to host the games in for safety reasons. I don't use these for tracking you at all, just for saving your game (local storage to be precise, but this normally uses the same setting in your browser). You may also be able to just add an exception for itch.io and hwcdn.net (the site itch.io uses for hosting).

Here are the right settings in Firefox and Chrome:

Hi, you expanded the map twice in total right? Then this is totally normal, you got a new square in the top right and the next expansion will unlock this undiscovered area too!

Thanks very much for reporting this! This has now been resolved.

Thanks!

Thank you, yeah it does have a lot of elements people loved from Stop the Darkness!

Thanks, I'm happy you like the art!

Thank you for your nice comment!

Thanks! Later in the game you'll get enough power/minute that this should no longer be an issue, but maybe it could be a nice early game QOL feature. Discovering tile combinations is meant to be a part of the game, but adding a log of what you discovered and how to get those again may be a good idea. You can see how much a tile gives you (and why) by hovering over it.

You probably disabled third party cookies in your browser, this is required for saving to work.

Really nice city; great patterns in these buildings! I especially like the high tower and the building with holes next to it.

Hi! I'm glad you've enjoyed my game. Save game issues are normally caused by your browser. Make sure you have enough space on your device. Also make sure cookies and other site data are not blocked or set to be deleted on your device, especially third party ones. If you're not on iOS you can export your save; Apple blocks this unfortunately. I'm planning on making a iOS (and Android) app as well which should not have this issue, but I'm not sure yet and if I do, it's likely multiple months away.

It works for me! If it works in the browser it's probably a problem with the app.

I don't have any experience with Chromebooks, so I can't help you much there, but sending the file via a cloud service Google Drive, an USB stick or even just email should work.

Hey, I'm sorry, progress is only stored locally so there's no way for me to recover it. I can give you a save file with lots of resources that may help you to get up to speed: https://florianvanstrien.nl/files/TheFinalEarth/saveWithLotsOfResources.sav (from lower down in the comments)

To load this, right click+Save Link As... on the link above, save it, go back to the game, click Load Game, Import... and select the file.

Or if you still have access to the other computer, you can export it from there and import it into your new computer.

Yup, certainly, you can find it at https://stijncappetijn.bandcamp.com/album/the-final-earth-2

And I totally agree it's awesome music, really happy with what Stijn made! :D

Of course you can make a YouTube video (I assume you mean that)!

You're welcome :D

Yeah, reducing lag was one of the goals of the update, so I'm happy that worked! I'll hopefully make the game work even more smoothly in the future.

This should hopefully be fixed now!

Thanks! If you happen to remember those other issues, it'd be very helpful if you could post them too!

Oops I'll have to fix that sometimes... I'm afraid the beacons won't survive a reload anyway as they're not saved.

You're very welcome!!! <3<3<3<3<3

😛

I hope you've enjoyed the update!

Really nice city, wow!

There's a limit of 10,000; that should be plenty and I don't think any current computer can handle that without lag.

If you are on an iPad/iPhone: no, sorry, not right now, due to platform restrictions.

Otherwise: go to the Game Menu on the CoolMath version. Click Export and store the file somewhere safe. Then click Import (in the game menu, again) on this itch.io version and select the file you just imported.

Yes!

That looks amazing! Really nice structure.

Hey all! It's great to see your cities and feedback. You can now also join my Discord if you want to chat! https://discord.gg/r4H25JM

Of course, I'll keep checking here regularly as well, the Discord is just a new option.

Looks great! I like the building on the right!

If you exported your save and still have that file, you can Import it from the game menu.
