I really enjoyed most of my playthrough. The art style is very charming and the music does a great job at setting the scene. I also really loved the password puzzles. They struck a great balance between amount of information and critical thinking. The story also had me intrigued. However towards the end (or what I believe to be so due to not finishing) I stopped playing due to the final puzzle. It was really fun at first, but towards the end of it (when almost the whole screen except for 2 rows/columns gets filled in red) I got annoyed. I attempted it 14 times but there wasn’t enough time to figure out what the open lane was. And since it’s randomly chosen, I couldn’t memorize it either. The camera is so zoomed in that even standing in the middle won’t let you see all of the sides and find the safe area. This soured the experience. Just giving a bit more view to the player could remedy this. Overall, great game, but the shutdown sequence ruins it for me.

Or idk, maybe i just need to get good :P

Creative use of the theme. And I think the music and sound effects do a great job of creating a tense atmosphere. However, there is a ton going on. Though I do get the feeling that might be the point. To dive into specifics, visually, there is a lot of clutter, it isn’t too clear what to do or what needs your attention. Since there are so many bars everywhere, instead of bouncing between them, I pay little attention to any of them. Setting aside the left side of the screen, for example, as the area where all the bars are, can really help in making it clearer to the player of what they need to do. Overall, there is a great idea in here, it just needs a bit of polish to make it a more enjoyable experience. But of course the 48 hour time limit might not have left you the opportunity to clean it up, but I hope you come back to this project someday because I would love to see what it can become.

Very well made. The concept is really cool and makes for some funny situations.

Brava to everyone who worked on this, it is an amazing experience.

I love the aesthetic and music. This is also a great concept. Very well done. As for feedback, the controls are a little floaty and I think this style of game could benefit from some more snappy movement. But that could just be a preference thing. Overall, wonderful job.

Thanks for the feedback I do agree with you on a lot of things(such as the music and sfx notes)

This game, in its current state, was made in about 2 weeks for a school competition so i focused mainly on gameplay and art and let the sound design fall to the back burner(since that is not really my forte).

But now that the competition is over and I’ll have more time to spend on the game(well at least after finals) I’ll definitely make an attempt to improve some of the problems with the game.

But I’m glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback it is really helpful.

I needed to do a project for school and decided to procrastinate. I ended putting this game together in 6 days just in time for the deadline.

In the game you play as an archeologist returning artifacts to a temple. But the temple begins to seal after you return an artifact, do your best to escape before you get trapped. The game is meant to be played multiple times to decrease your time and finish faster. The game only has three levels, but if enough people want it, I will add more in the future.

Thanks For Your Time and Have a Nice Day, -Squizard

Thanks

Thanks

I wanted to do a game jam, but I also had to do a project for my Biology Class Finals. So I killed two birds with one stone and asked my teacher if I could make a game for the project.

She said yes.

The results were a little game called DNA Reflex

It is a reaction based puzzle game where you connect DNA nucleotides to try to make as many strands of DNA that you can I am open to feedback so if this sounds interesting then try it out.

Anyway thanks for reading my post. Have a nice day. :)

Thanks

Yes he did

(’: That was beautiful man

11/10 WOULD CHEAT AGAIN

I don't get it

Thanks for the feedback I am glad that you enjoyed Ted and his story
I will fix few of the thing that you said

The reason I didn't do the check is because I didn't want the player to get stuck at a wall and feel as if they can't pass

Since there is no direct correlation between the walls and the narration but you aren't the first to comment on overlapping voiceline so I will look into something to fix that

Also about the moving left the reason it happened is because I put an else if instead of an if statement  :P

Thank You once again for playing :)

yes I just thought that it was easier to write a sad sorry than a funny one  :P

Thanks

The frog eggs?  IDK what they are either I just drew it and hoped it looked good :P
I will try to fix the audio thing

You Got this everyone

ok thank you

Would it be fine if the game is 2.5D or does it have to be 2D?

Hey do you think that you might host a demake jam this year(2021)
It was a really cool  and unique Idea and I love all of the great games that came out of it
Maybe you can add a them like only demake  games from the xbox 360/ps3/wii era or something like that

Thanks I will try to fix those problems

(1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback

I did implement a few of those things into the base game I will try to see what was causing those bugs

Please spare us

You read my mind That is what I am doing

(1 edit)

winter was theme that it gave me

Kinda Ironic

Yes

Make a game?

Godot?

Yes that was a bug I will be quick to fix that

Thank you

Sounds great
the game is more fun now and lets the idea shine a lot more good job

Thanks I'll be sure to fix that

That sounds great I'll be sure to try the game when you updated

This is a really great idea. But i think the slider thing is a little tedious(especially in the later levels)

Maybe power-ups or maybe metroidvania style progression It is just that the slider makes a really good idea into a tedious guessing game

This is an amazing Idea it is just the execution that destroys it. Also maybe the controls can be a bit tighter. For a game with tight/trickly platforming like this the controls should be a bit tighter or more responsive. (Since you are using Unity maybe use "get_axis_raw" on the input instead of "get_axis" for input)

Finally maybe change the fake blocks just a bit to differentiate them. Just enough to where it is noticeable but not to much to where it looks to obvious

Anyway i am sorry for rambling just remember this criticism is just for the sake of helping you improve not to be rude.

Have a nice Day :)
